Yeh the context of the game is important looking back. Was that just after the Lions game? we were flat, in a post Roo return lul, while the pies were flying.

It took us some time to get 'used' to Roo comming back ironically enough.

Milne's kick was amazing. All we needed was a good 30-40m kick (out of defence) to a man who could mark it around centre wing (easier said than done). Then like we did late in the last, go long down the line to our 50, and set up for a stoppage or boundry throw in. It was simply a battle of meters f...

It's tough, part of the reason we couldn't get it out of the back was a stuggle in clearances (armo would have helped). They were smart though, setting up outside thier attacking 50 so if we bombed long they just snatched it up, and when we tried to run it through they tackled us. It's hard to play ...

If it's wet again, selection wise I think so, could of done with an Armo in the middle in the last... Not to sure about that. I see your point at Armo is a clearance player, but what we lacked in the 4th was the ability to run out a match. Armo has missed a lot of footy with two medial knee strains...

Also forgot though, Gaz did get some fairly handy clearances, so that must be acknowledged.

As a saints fan and coach no doubt Jones was better than Gaz, it's all relative, when you keep the reigning brownload medallist to 21 touches and 0 goals, and you get any amount of it and a goal yourself. That is a massive win in the saints direction.

Probably Pies, Geelong are experienced and know what it takes.

The doubt might be there for the pies, and the big stage might get the better of a few of their younger players, and their accuracy.

Man of stone. I go to Uni with him, and he just sits their, on his own with this blank look on his face.

Each to their own, maybe he is so focused on his game (because the pressure is there and he is a fringe player, that he doesn't show much).

Re: I dont know but he is a right footer.

I'd be interested in hearing what work the sports science boffins down at at the club are doing with Peake, Gilbo and Jones who all seem very one sided. I think your putting the blame on the wrong people there. It's not the sports science 'boffins' fault or reason these players are so one sided, or...

Havn't watched a reply but...

Kicked 3, had an assist to Roo, and Won a centre clearance, dance and passed it to a running BJ who hit up Roo. That's an involvement in at least 5 goals tonight. Fantastic.

People only think it's dubious because of the circumstances, the free was clearly there, the face Ling picked it up and kicked the goal make's is more prominent. What a lot of people forget, and talk back callers especially. Is context is irrelevant, that is a free kick in round 7 when who ever is u...

The rain takes Roo and Kosi out of the game. It suits us in the middle and our pressure game, but puts our backs under massive pressure at ground level (i.e. not many small defenders, miss Bakes), and our twin towers are sometime found wanting in the rain

Surprised Miles isn't playing, though he was eligable, and if we get an injury at least he could show some form (albeit reserves)

Interesting, seems the Pie's and Geelong are resting a few for round 22, while the saints have are trying a full strength unit. Guess Geelong would know best anyways. Despite us making the GF last year, I thought we looked average after the Hawks game (where everyone came back in after that week) nn...

Couldn't imagine him going cheaply. Also he is a west australian yeah? He did have a ripper season that first year, Freo would be silly to let him go. On an unrelated note, remember the flak that Freo copped for going Hill instead of Rich, 12 months further down the track Hill is a really good playe...

very very similar, hard to compare him to cyril now. In terms of pace, back in the day there wasn't much seperating them, and they we're clearly quicker than everyone else out there. Djerrkura had pretty good draft camp results by memory as well, was top 10 on a lot of the categories, and 2nd overal...

Only saw him as a youngster, playing at Scotch with Cyril Rioli, those two were dominant. Djerrkura and Nick Smith (sydney) in the middle, with cyril up forward, not many teams could match them up very well.

Definitly a talented guy, worth a look.

The issue is that he is leaving Geelong due to a lack of opportunities - you'd have to be stupid as a player to then cross the St.Kilda where the opportunities are similarly slim... Good point, but it's clear there is a gap and room for someone in our 22 who has genuine leg speed. E.g our recruitme...
