Re: Paddy, fit and symptom free.
Fair enough. I’m just taking the article on face value. I don’t know a lot about concussion except for my own experience with it. But what I do know is we don’t know enough about it to make definite judgements on it. There’s still a lot of unknowns when it comes to the workings of the brain. From wh...

I reckon we’d be mad not to let him do a preseason with us to see what he has to offer.

Re: Paddy, fit and symptom free.
....From what I saw I don’t think Paddy had the athleticism and endurance for the modern game and I don’t think he’d fit Ratten’s game style. A couple of years on the side lines is not going to assist his areas of deficiency. The above mentioned are fixable with hard work. And game plans change yea...

‘...if they have given me the all clear to get back and play and they reckon I am at no greater risk then I'd be stupid not to," McCartin said...’ He’s been given the all clear by doctors and the AFL, he’s got the support of his family according to the article too, so I don’t blame him for want...

Re: The druggies after Paton
Maybe a leak from his manager to give Saints a little prod? I’d say you’re right. Manager trying to bump up Paton’s contract, which mean more $ for his manager too. Most of the contract talk now is manager driven. They have no club interest it’s about the best deal for their client and themselves.

Re: Reiwoldt's kids - the future!
There’ll be some victorian 17-18 yo that will come from nowhere as they haven’t played a game this year. Most of the picks in the draft from Victoria this draft will be kids who showed form as an under ager in the NAB league. There’ll be some kids that have grown and developed a lot since they last ...

Re: Reiwoldt's kids - the future!
Milne and Peckett also has/had boys in the saints future academy but don't know what has happened to them. Milne’s boy is 18 now...He’s apparently pretty good, but not AFL good yet. Peckett has 4 boys I think. One is 18 now, he’s good but needs to develop. There’s three younger ones who are all pre...

Re: Gold Coast issues...Saints win.
I would say the bigger lure for Ben if anything would be that his brother will be lining up for the club they supported all their lives in finals in a week or so whilst he himself is part of the soulless franchise club fast tracked to nowhere. If the Saints can remain a finals fixture for the next ...

Re: Gold Coast issues...Saints win.
Of course it’s wishful thinking....but for the fact that this video made it to the media would suggest that some are not happy with what’s going on at GC. There’ll be pressure on Ben King to stay there from GC and the AFL, but if there’s issues it may be easier for him to justify a return to Melbour...

Possible trouble at GC might make it easier for Ben King to come home. https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/amp.couriermail.com.au/sport/afl/teams/gold-coast/video-footage-shows-gold-coast-suns-coach-stuart-dew-urinating-outside-a-queensland-pub/news-story/6ce1c8713474f4936c502fbe962412e2 Will most proba...

Re: imagine how good .....
Hannebery is pretty important for our fwd50 entries. He makes really good decisions with footy in hand. He almost always lowers his eyes first before bombing. Soon as you have more variety when entering fwd50 you are harder to defend against. Geelong played us well, they had sweepers between our key...

Re: Trade talk
Luke Parker?
Still very handy player... Rfa I believe.
Swans clearly rebuilding. Wouldn’t cost too much?
Get a couple of good years at least from him. Meanwhile try and develop, trade and draft our next crop of mids, which is starting to emerge already.

Re: ins and outs
Geary gets a bit of the footy because the opposition are happy for him to have it. As he turns it over in dangerous areas regularly. His kicking has no penetration now also, so even his long bombs drop short. I love Gears, gives 100%, has got the most out of himself. He obviously has value as a lead...

We bombed out last night.
We could have bombed out of the finals last night, as we bombed out of the game. We had 16 more fwd50 entries last night but we’re far too predictable with our long, high, loopy bombs, that are far too easy to defend, especially when the opposition load up in the defence as they all do these days. T...

Re: Paddy McCartin
He’d have to play like Tim Membrey or Jack Reiwoldt to get a game. Not sure he’s up to being that mobile. He’s 194cm, he’d have to weigh around 90-94kg to be able to play that role. And most importantly he’ll have to find someone to insure him. I reckon Richo ruined him with his crashing of packs (h...

Re: Alan Richo should get some credit
Richo made Paddy’s career what it is today with his development skills. Teaching him to crash packs head first.... ‘be strong Paddy’. Richo held us back and stunted the development of the clubs elite talent. He more or less retired our #1 pick, and turned a #3 in to a 2rd rounder at best. He was nic...
