Re: How injured is Mason Wood?

He looks fairly hampered but is still performing a valuable role. The fact that he self diagnosed himself as missing a month or so when he got the injury suggests that he's in quite a bit of discomfort. I'm guessing he continues at his current level of output for the rest of this season, gets surger...

Re: Get f#### Stocker off

Thought he had a good game, but good pick up. Ross was not glowing in his praise for him in the GWS game either. Maybe Coffield is in with a shot, (some day when he can get o the park) I think Coff should ultimately replace Webster. Realistically Coffield's 2024 is going to be a season of building ...

Re: Let’s talk about NWM!!!

Legit since signing on he's exploded. I wonder if he was not in the best mental space, both getting used to being away from home and thinking about whether he's going to request a trade. Now with a clear path for at least the next two years he looks so much more focused and comfortable. He was a lia...

Re: Cooper “Scoops” Grech with his latest exclusive report

Scoops has also posted and it is still up (the above story seems to be deleted on his page) that st Kilda is after Darcy parish and is willing to let Billings walk to essendon as a free agent as well. Problem is that billings in contracted until 2025 and therefore is not a free agent. Conclusion: S...

Re: Scapegoats v Overrated v Whipping Boys

Here's my take on the whipping boys Small forwards - Not perfect but doing a very good job as a group. Not concerned with their form at all Ross - Started the year in career best form and now he's in career worst form. Has been a liability for several weeks and needs to be dropped. Howard - Not perf...

Re: To the Crouch doubters

He had a cracking start to the year (as evidenced by the stats) which is why it's so disappointing when he disappeared for the last 3 games. Exactly this. I rate him highly but he's been crap for a while after an awesome start to the season. Seb has had a similar trajectory - started in career best...

Re: Zak Jones - injured, again. Ugh!!

Zak must be done at this point. He absolutely has the talent and ability to be a starting best 22 player but it seems like his body isn't going to let him get there. Same with McKenzie. It's brutal but I think we need to move on from both. Hopefully Coffield and Hayes can get themselves right before...

Re: Byrnes and Paton

Byrnes kicked a goal. 69 % disposal efficiency Paton was as average as most others. Same disposal efficiency as Seb Ross Maybe drop Seb and see if Ronnie can step up with the extra responsibility. I reckon he has upside where as Seb has plateaued and the cliff is close... I'd drop all three along w...

Re: Winning the worst game of footbal in 20 years.

Round 22, 2016 against Richmond stands out to me as the worst game I've ever seen. It started off brilliantly with Paddy McCartin kicking two quick goals on Alex Rance before going off concussed. We ended up winning 7.13 55 to Richmond's 6.10 46. David Armitage gave away 8 free kicks amongst his 11...

Re: Should we playing Higgins, Gresham and Butler?

They're all going reasonably well. They've all had down games but Butler has kicked 14 goals and is second in the comp for tackles inside 50, Higgins has kicked 16 goals and Gresh is averaging 17 touches, a goal and an assist per game. Very solid numbers for a group of small forwards, especially con...

Re: Jade, staying or going

If we let Gresh go we'll spend the next few years looking for a Gresh replacement and probably come up short. He's had a very tough go with injuries and is now finally getting some continuity, hitting his physical prime and is also adjusting to a new role after playing mostly as a mid since 2019. He...

Re: Poe was handy but

It was his worst game by far. He looked like he needed a rest last week and playing him off a 5 day break was dumb. 5 turnovers from 12 touches (only 2 contested and 2 were kicks) is a very poor game. He had a couple of nice moments but needs a spell. The kid just turned 18 last christmas.

Re: Liam Stocker

I was actually thinking Stocker replaces Paton when/if Coffield returns. Agree. Paton along with Byrnes are liabilities with the ball. Even since the start of the year Byrnes seems to have significantly improves his disposal. He's hitting a lot of targets lace out while kicking at pace. 20 disposal...

Pretty tragic that injuries look to have derailed what was a spectacular rise from liability to lock in the 22. You don't often see someone come back from chronic calf injuries.

Re: Dougal Howard

I think Dougs is playing his best footy to date this season. His defensive work has been really solid and clangers have been minimal. With him playing more of a close checking lockdown role, Wilkie and Battle have thrived with more intercepts and rebound. He's a very important member of the team rig...

Re: Whispers of Bing to Pies

Everyone is talking about Ben King will be coming at a premium. That’s if Gold Coast are happy to break his contract this year and trade him on (which I highly doubt). Ben King is actually a free agent after the 2024 season and will come to us for nothing except $$$. Restricted FA. GC would just ne...

Re: Whispers of Bing to Pies

I'm not sold on the idea of us getting Bing. Do we really want two ruck-sized forwards who go at less than one tackle per game taking up 2mil (15%) of the salary cap? Then there's the fact that they've played 108 games between them out of a possible 178, so they've each played about 60% of the time....

Re: Ben Paton.( Poor)

Paton still doesn't look the same as before the broken leg. He was one of our safest users of the footy and never got himself in trouble before. His role does seem to be evolving and I imagine his confidence isn't where it once was, given he's now in and out of the side after being a starting 18 loc...

I stood behind him at a game recently, he was noticeably taller than Jack Hayes who he was next to. I see in his draft year he was listed at 198cm and Hayes is 197, so he must have shot up a bit recently. He is a really tall young man, doesn't look significantly tanked as yet but I'm sure that will...
