Re: Stringer

Offer him a good club environment and he can join. Look at how the better clubs nurture players into men. Norf did farq all with Carey (turned him into a pig) yet Hawthorn kept Dermie on the straight and narrow (I'd say Allan jeans kept some of that crew disciplined). All about offering players a nu...

Re: SEN RUMOUR: Dusty signed at Tigers today for 7 by $1.3Mi

Not doing that. Never been a part of one and never will be. Depends what sort of bikie clubs we're talking about. Are some good? I don't know. He has an extensive crim record whether he's a bikie or not according to articles on the net. But he was part of an outlawed bikie club as deemed by the law...

Re: SEN RUMOUR: Dusty signed at Tigers today for 7 by $1.3Mi

I am over the Dusty Hype in the media. He is a good footy player yes, but he is the son of a known bikie, one who has several criminal convictions and has been deported from Australia. The fact that the AFL think they are stronger than the Federal Government, and THEy can get Dusty's Dad back in Aus...

Re: Afl Coaches on the Move- begins

The moves will be: 1. Clarko or the North Scott to Gold Coast. Why? Club is a basketcase, needs fixing a la Leigh Matthews Brisbane Lions, and Mark Evans (ex Hawthorn) is CEO. AFL need good PR for Gold Coast. 2. Paul Roos to Collingwood. Similar to above, Magpies sponsors will get shirty soon and pu...

Re: Metricon Stadium - In House Review

I believe the AFL would've been far better off taking an existing entity such as the Southport Sharks and granting them a licence, as they did with Port Adelaide. The Sharks have over 60,000 members, I believe, meaning they already would've had a solid supporter base. Play out of a world class stad...

Metricon Stadium - In House Review

Hi all, I attended the Suns v Bombers game on Saturday night with the Mrs at Metricon. Some notes: 1. The Suns have no real local support, by that I mean, the Aussie Rules followers up north already have a team they follow, especially the expat Vic/Tas/SA natives now residing on the Gold Coast 2. Th...

Re: Footy show tonight: RB made decisions whilst drunk

Collingwood and Essendon are in drug related trouble. The AFL's key 'income earner clubs' are in strife.

Solution: have a crack at the clubs that draw money from the league.

'Follow the Money' I was once told.

Nothing wrong with global television exposure. AFL bang on about 'exporting the game', looks like we exported it by accident.

Not to worry, press on.

Re: Archie Fraser, ex St Kilda CEO

I know for a fact Archie Fraser got a Bruce Mathieson designed Pokies venue to the Kingston council and they threw it out. Too commercial and not a fan of Mathieson Pokies venues. They were classic left wing community based council people who had no time for such venues. Fraser then decided to go t...

Archie Fraser, ex St Kilda CEO

Can anyone tell me their thoughts on Archie's time with the Saints? Was he a good money man, or good 'corporate' man? He went to FFA after the Saints, then disappeared off the face of the earth.

Did he come to Australia from Scotland, specifically for the Saints job?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Tigers Round 16 2017

Was at the game on Saturday night, the Mrs is a Essendon fan, but wanted to see Dusty in action. I gave her a hard time as the ball was never up Dusty's end for him to score. Had fun at the game.
