Re: What do these inclusions mean?

I don’t know what it means… but what I want to know is what more does Windhager have to do to get a bloody game in the starting 22? I know Ross likes his structures, but he’s the answer to more run in the midfield. He can tag, he can kick a goal, he makes good decisions and his disposals and inside...

Re: Adelaide Preview Thread.

Adelaide have been playing good football and should be higher up the ladder. Poor goal kicking has hurt them . So if they kick straight they'll win easily. The way we've been effective in scoring has been worked out by opposition Coaches . Agree. Add to this the players now seem to be over thinking...

Re: Does king walk straight in?

King in, Membrey gets 3/4 to redeem himself, with Pou the sub Caminiti, Billings , Webster all to stake their claims at Sandy for selection Windhager, Bytel and Campbell the travelling emergencies Webster will be discussed with the twin threats of Rankine and Rachelle, but lack of match practice goe...

Re: Cordy is important to us structurally....

I think we are using Cordy and the sub strategy back to front. A midfielder as a sub isn’t making a huge impact. Put Cordy in as a sub and bring him on the last quarter to add some extra height. We could have used some height in the last quarter deep forward when we were bombing it in. When the pres...

Re: Tim Membrey

As much as I loved what Caminiti offered , no doubt we got more from Membrey first up.

As for Cordy , I think Ross likes him because he provides insurance in case Marshall, a KPF or KPD go down. Probably only gets displaced when King is good to go.

Re: N Daicos

Windhager was arguably the best tagger in the comp last year . Hasn’t been deployed in that role at all this year Are they keeping that tactic up their sleeve ? Or do Enright and co not agree with tagging ? If we play Collingwood in the finals I’d love to see Windhager have a crack at blanketing Dai...

Re: Votes v Blues

For those of you who haven’t included Ross in your votes, go back and have a look at the replay and see how he wins his possessions. His contested work was easily best on our side of the ledger, and was my best player closely followed by Sinclair - and daylight to the rest. Hill best of the rest , a...

I really like Seb Ross’ game today.
Fought hard for every possession and took the game on a number of times.

Sinclair and Hill also good.

Also a few of his hanballs have excellent Correct player out of congestion creating goals Appears to be a quick thinker...best option etc He looks very promising His awareness of what’s around him in congestion is elite. Re: Changes v paper baggers

Out Caminiti, Cordy In Membrey, Steele Windhager sub Bytel plays I like it. But for some reason I think Lyon will prefer to keep Cordy in until King returns . I suspect Bytel gets dropped to get a full game at Sandy. Apart from King, I’m really looking forward to getting Webster back. I thought he ...

Re: Changes Round 4

unless either of them pulled up sore, then its Paton and Bytel as unbackable favourites to move into the 22. Sub on the other hand is up for grabs as the quality drops away sharply. Personally, I would lean toward Sharman as he provides an option to play a few different positions - but its very clea...

Re: Have We (Finally) Run Out Of Bodies?

Really disappointed about and for Membrey. Just a quick cleanup to fix the niggle they said. Should be back by round 1 they said Now it looks like round 6 at the earliest. Will have lost a bit of condition in that time. Additional injuries to Hayes and Coffield who should have had their loads and bo...

Re: WHO SHOULD BE NERVOUS AS ST KILDA WEIGHS UP HOW DEEP TO CUT LIST?

The reality is, almost everyone is expendable or available for trade at the right price. The list of players who are non-negotiable is tiny. Anyone who is out of contract at the end of this season and has struggled to get a game in the seniors (either due to form or injury) is going to be a candidat...

Re: Round 1 side

Windhager is a lock if fit Phillipou hit the scoreboard in both practice games so I’d say he is in Paton can play back and now wing, so I reckon he gets the nod over Webster It sounded like Caminiti is in according to RTB on FC. Which would may Bytel the sub. Bytel comes in if Windy doesn’t get up, ...

Re: Round 1 side

I’m amazed how many people keep nominating Sharman in their Round 1 team when the coaches chose not to play him in last practice match. Unless one of the forwards that played in that game gets injured , he just isn’t going to play. I will be as interested and excited as anyone to see where the goals...

Re: Training today

Is it a rubbish rumour because it’s not what we want to hear? Me personally I think we have a serviceable backline, a workman like midfield and an ok forward line (with King) but he’s a massive out. I have us 9-12 But with a bad run with injuries that could be 13th-16th Unfortunately I think you ar...

Re: Practice Thread for Practice Match Saints v Bummers 2023

Interesting game. If the bummers convert the first few shots and we are down by 5 goals at qtr time, Do we drop our heads or do we fight back? Do they get their tails up and run all over us and we lose confidence? I don’t think the bummers adapted to the conditions, and I wouldn’t think it’s much of...

Good to see him take a couple of grabs. Been waiting for that. Tick. He's got something at ground level too, agile for a bigish fella. Not surprised Caminti selected ahead of Sharman - who I think is quite a long way down the pecking order. Pleased to see Butler named on the bench. Needs a massive rocket. Not sure how stocker gets a game - I thought he was very average last week. Would have preferred to see Campbell get a few minut...

Re: Positive review of St Kilda after last Friday's practice match

We got scored heavily off the turnover out of our forward line last year and this is where I think Mitch has Sharman covered in a Lyon's defensive focused side, once the ball hits the deck, time will tell though when he gets more games against the big boys. I think many on here will be surprised at...

Re: Match SIM squad & Match Thread v Melbourne 24/02/23

Sharman needs to play deep forward where his footy iq can be maximised. He looks like he is a long way back in the pecking order. I liked the look of Cominti - probably just ahead of Sharman and took some nice grabs, but another dodgy kick. Will be interesting to see how much upside the boy has over...
