Re: David King on St Kilda 2024
There is fair comment and then there is just pile on. Courageous as DK is I don't think he will be guilty of being critical of Pies or Carlton. Comments bagging us may have been spot on but also cheap shots stating the obvious. That's it. Just because a person in their position (media fluffer) make...

Re: Dan McKenzie
Player A might be a list clogger at Club X But he might not be one at Club Y In our case JB was one of the classier players and his purple patch, if you like, was probably ‘16-‘18, where across those seasons he kicked 50 odd goals and about 70 behinds. It’s hard to argue he gave much value after tha...

Re: Dan McKenzie
May it be so?
In certain scenarios, (salary caps, limited lists, priority picks, subsidies) it is to the advantage of Club A, to actually to pay Club B to accommodate a player on the latter's list, if that player could uncharitably, but ultimately be described as a 'list clogger'?

Re: David King on St Kilda 2024
May 7, 2022 David King claims the Saints are a flag 'smokie' and is full of praise. https://www.sen.com.au/news/2022/05/06/its-all-coming-together-kings-praise-for-one-of-his-premiership-smokies/ We won 6 of the next 15 games, and two of those wins were basket cases North and Adelaide. Ratts sacked.

Work cover - you get flown to Germany now? Maybe I should blow a calf at work? I actually think it was our idea, to try and get him right - fair enough If we delisted him Billings? wtf has he got to do with it? We are paying him 250k to play at Melbourne Maybe we should send him to Switzerland so M...

Re: Herald Sun - Top 30 Draft Picks since 2000
I bet other clubs have fans that tell a tale in similar tones of ‘woe is us’ in their fam forums in regards to their fortunes in the e draft over the years. On the other hand, can’t help but join in and pile on.. I wonder if Gold Coast and others don’t leverage the Saints history a bit when they ask...

.. Clark...firsts unless injured. ... Clark is gonna come on this year.... I'm Hunter fan.. But the refrain, "Clark is gonna come on this year." could have been applied the last six years running.. 2018 15 games 2019 14 games 2020 18 games 2021 13 games 2022 8 games 2023 19 games Averages...

..I..more sympathy…than others. ..always seemed to do the work but could never quite get a decent run… ….wish him well I didn’t.. I didn’t know Jack about St Kilda when I came on this board .. I heard about this guy McKenzie and confused him with Hunter Clark. I lumped him in with Eli Templeton ..b...

I echo the sentiments of York ‘n SR
Skill and pace
And some lucky bounces
NWM, Hill, and Sincs will loom large
And will be on their radar!
I’m my dreams…
In steps Henry and the Carlton recruit - and ..pow!

Re: Round 1 - Cats vs Saints
Fascinating game - if you were an independent. As a St Kilda fan, eeewwwgghh! I don't imagine too many will be tipping us. Their forward line vs our backline? I expect their old campaigners to begin the season well, (Duncan, Danger etc., before hobbling off injured mid-season. ) And they have a few ...

1. Set shots deteriorate across the comp as winter really kicks in
2. runners around the 50 arc are the worst
3. Ross Lyon was St Kilda coach in 2004. (Not Grant Thomas as first thought)

To win the Brownlow Medal is gold, gold, GOLD. It is a golden pass to future security. "Our annual dinner (our Winery Tour, our cruise lunch, our motivational speech mentor awards key-note speaker etc. etc.) will feature Brownlow Medalist (for those new to O-see football, it is the game's most ...

Re: Umpires perception
I read a Chinese chess champion cheated by having a communication device up his bottom. Look forward to how judicial technology deals with that level of deception, although in footy and cricket it's hard to run with a suppository so there may not be technology transfer. Fascinating, you seem to kno...

Re: Will Jack Higgins go up a level?
If King's only good for 12 games he's not worth (it). Caminiti was a first year player off no preseason. He has the tools to work on his craft. …. Agree about Cam He looks good I’m excited But I’m weary. I saw him destroy his teammates chances Is that natural sense? Can he learn? Can we manage? I l...

Re: Will Jack Higgins go up a level?
So the take away points are that at Richmond it a very mixed bag of opinions On the one hand, a bunch of fans seem to think Jack was disruptive and an entitled pest. The other group recoil and say, leave him alone, and he’s doing better now. Anyway, it’s quite interesting. Just think, if Jack’s sett...

Re: Will Jack Higgins go up a level?
It’s fun and interesting to see Tigers and (some) Saints fans discuss him leaving Richmond. My impression is that Butler was nominally the bigger loss, had it not been for his ankle injury, (something that might finish his career prematurely.) https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/jack-higgins-the-...

.....after tasting Grand final success and having serious health set backs at Richmond, and then life saving brain surgery, he picked himself up and asked for trade to his childhood Club. ..... 1) I don't think Higgo played in any grand final or tasted success. https://afltables.com/afl/stats/playe...

Re: Will Jack Higgins go up a level?
Higgins needs... a different role .. ....enough with King, Caminiti, Membrey, Hayes and Sharman... ... also... Philippou and Owens rotating.... His 'lead up' style..won't cut it.. Otherwise..just robbing a tall leading forward of their role.. Out of the two, Butler is the more important asset.... K...

I like Jay Clark….. Anyway I can’t wait to se e Jay Clark’s ladder predictions given that he separates himself from those who ‘predicted a slide’ so to speak, for the Saints He predicted we would drop out (of the top 8). Only Mark Robinson at the HS thinks we will play finals in 2024. I think the o...

2016 was a pretty good effort - just missing the 8 with a middling list Heck, everyone’s whipping boy Seb Ross was one of our best players 34yo N.Reiwoldt won the B&F Tim Membrey won the goal kicking And we had a bunch of busts from 2011-2014 drafts The list was not good The side was a time-bom...

2017 we should have made finals. ... 2016 is a frustrating read.. https://afltables.com/afl/seas/2016.html Started poorly and were 1-4 after five rounds.
