Re: Be careful New Zealand
Channel 7 - AFL Game Day. Reporter says the Tassie Govt has paid $16 million over 5 years for AFL games to be played in Tassie.
I suppose all those Tasmanians waiting for surgery will be overjoyed, going to a live AFL game can be therapeutic and is better than medication.
Go figure.

Re: Be careful New Zealand
I fully understand why you are angry. Tasmania has a great history of football. I fail to understand why the AFL thinks New Zealand is the new frontier. They Kiwis cannot embrace such a game, it will simply be a novelty for them. Why doesn't the AFL put effort into more important things, like improv...

Re: Where's Wilkes at?
Is Wilkes the 2012 version of Ryan Gamble? He seemed to be a little slow and didn't appear to body up... you can't judge a player on a performance against Melbourne!

Re: IMAGINE
Imagine how good we would be if: 5. Our rucks could tap the ball to our advantage a lot more than they do now. I think you'll find that we sometimes win more clearances than the opposition, even against the Wet Toast. What happens after a clearance is a very poor kick or handball, to someone who is...

...Lack of chase from Milne and Kosi killed us... I can't ever remember Kosi putting in big strides to chase someone. He does run, but either his aerobic capacity ain't there, or his attitude sucks. Not sure which. Milne sometimes chases, but not often enough. I suppose both of them want to save th...

Re: 3 Up - No one down
Gawd I hope the coaches pick this up in the video review. Has to be addressed in training. Imagine meeting the Wet Toast in a final, with Cox and Natanui winning every tap-out. We will get smashed every time by Kerr and Priddis et al...ground level players HAVE to get skilled at this. Another reason...

Re: Gram
Gram has always been an outside player. Maybe the coaches value his disposal, better than some of his team-mates, so perhaps the plan is for him to hover around outside the contest, let Lenny or some other hard-nut win the ball and feed the Marshmallow. He can then kick to a lead, or go deep deep de...

Re: Goddard loose in defence
Against tigers, in last qtr, he got tackled by someone 20kg lighter but didnt try to run thru him. got held up and turned it over. I wonder if Watters has put a bit of acid on BJ for more spine and BJ maybe dont like it? Let him go to GWS for a young talent.

Re: Saints v Crows - preview & discussion
I checked the betting agencies, they have us a bit closer than I would have expected (6 day break, hostile crowd, Crows 8-2, etc)...if Craig was still coaching, they would NOT be where they are now. Real threat. Saints must come prepared to play. I'm sad but I think Milne will have a poor one, as he...

They have a bit more than us, in their trophy cabinet. I hate them equally as much as I hate the Bumbers. When was our last win against the evil throng from Tullamarine?TJMcCarthy wrote:They should focus on the Nab cup. That's their only hope for some silverware.

Re: Scotty Watters Collingwood traits
Attacking down the wing from the kick out almost the entire length of the ground As a young player...our home ground always had a strong crosswind. We had firm instructions to kick out to the left , so the ball would tend to drift towards the line for a throw-in. But if we were lucky, we could go r...

Re: Perth-Based Sainters- The Inglewood again?
I tried to contact the Western Saints through their website and on their facebook page. Nobody seemed to bother to contact me. They don't give a rat's, apparently. In the past, I used to go to the Hyde Park for most Foxtel games, then the Karalee, then I believe some dramas occurred between some of ...

Well, yesterday, there was a massive turn-out. Not for the Saints vs Bowling Ball head; no, lots of dudes watching some rubbish rugby- All-Blacks vs Ireland. They commandeered most of the TVs. We were given a TV in the corner, and managed to hear some of the audio, even though the Kiwis and Irish we...

Re: Clint Jones the Rainmaker...
I didn't see any vision of Ablett's game, but some of the commentators said Ablett's possessions were cheap and not effective. One former coach said: "he is nearly impossible to tackle, so you just let him have the ball and strangle the player who he's handballing or kicking to". So play t...

If u bothered to read my post,i did say he has a huge heart.Incredibly motivated. But kick and hope does his teammates no favours. "Unprofessional" is ONLY my take on his kicking, one aspect of his game. Just one. His running & 2nd & 3rd efforts are to be admi red, geez if Gram was...

Footy Classified "Kosi has had one good preseason in 10 years...70-90% professionalism...I told him several times while I was coach...unable to embrace correct lifestyle during preseason...if he was more professional, the Saints would have gotten immeasurably more out of him..." scathing a...
