Re: Henry Playfair

Agree that Henry looks like a great pick-up. We were sadly in need of new IP and some strong tactical input. The Swans are a very professional outfit and Henry's knowledge should prove invaluable this year, as long as our players improve their ability to deliver with some decent and accurate kicking.

It's good to retain players with excellent prospects of significant improvement in them. It's still early days for Blake.

Re: Coaching Shuffle

Henry Playfair seems like a very good get. His Sydney experience will be invaluable and his footy expertise is said to be very good.

Just what we need in the Box - new ideas and more professionalism.

Re: Coaching Shuffle

We definitely need some new coaching blood/views for next year. We looked stale this year. Someone from another high profile club, would be a good move, as IP is becoming more important every year.

Re: Harvs suggested as possible Frankston coach

Agree that it's time for some change in the Assistant Coaches group. They seem very unresponsive to making needed changes during games. Being just out of the game, Dal has impressed a lot of people with his tactical game knowledge and good communications skills. He is probably as good/better than ma...

Dreadful/inaccurate delivery into the forward 50 all year, hasn't help him.

Bruce Accuracy

Looking to 2018, can the side afford to have such an erratic kick as Josh Bruce at CHF, especially with Nick now retired? His kicking consistency seems very poor for a key forward. Membery kicks at around 73% efficiency, Rooyey at 70% and Josh at 57%! Lots of improvement needed if he is going to mak...

Re: Farewell Lonie

I was very surprised at his selection for this week. White was the obvious choice to replace Gilbert - Gears injury proved that. Was Lonie chosen as a last chance to prove himself at AFL level, after dominating in the VFL for the two previous weeks? He certainly didn't do his cause any justice with ...

Re: Montagna to Call for Tripple M

Yep, we need some new blood in the Coaches Box. Dal's knowledge and communication has impressed many people. He has been under some good coaches and is only just out of the game. He would be as good as any of the other ex-AFL players who tout their coaching expertise. Not sure whether he holds a Coa...

Re: Who's the next club great?

Unfortunately, there are no upcoming "stars" that stand out.
There are potential very good players such as Billings, Gresham, Dunstan, Acres, but there is much development still needed in them. McCartin is an unknown long term prospect, because of his injury history.

These types of selections are what our Recruiters get paid for. Let's hope that they are good enough to get a top-notch name in, but I am not confident. Apart from Carlisle, their overall track record is not great.

It's good that he has grasped the nettle with both hands.

We can see lots of improvement. Let's hope for all, that it continues into 2018, because we will need all guns firing next year.

The losses to Port and Melbourne show just where we are at. I hope that it hurts the boys a lot and so it should.

Both Players and Coaches need to hang their heads in shame. Hopefully, they all learn !

Totally Agree.

He seems to tap very well, but that's where his game ends. He needs to be able to mark around the ground. However, Billy is also lacking in this department.

Re: What made Roo tear up? ( Video)

What a great concise video, summarised with a well sculptured poem. The temptation was to put together a very long piece, which would have tended to water down the message.

Saints supporters will miss his charismatic performances. Unfortunately, no-one is following.

Re: What's happened to Jack Steven?

As Tony said, a dodgy groin. You can see it if you watch him closely, especially at stoppages, when he tries to ease the pain. He is no longer being tightly tagged all day, so we are missing a former key contributor. Let's hope that he can recover for 2018, although groins can be long term, nagging ...

Gilbo for Rooey looks right. We will need his run against the Dee's.

The teams are very close and it could go either way. We need to prepare well, plan well, mentally set ourselves, play well and importantly, coach well on the day. Oh, I forgot - kick well would be a very big help too ! :P

It's the small things on the day that can make a big difference.

Re: Eade, as a senior assistant?

As I have said previously, Eade is now yesterday's man. Aren't we supposed to have some top flight assistants - Danny Sexton and Adam Kingsley? However, I agree that on game day, Richo seems to be slow and lacklustre in making moves. On the other hand, unless you have good cattle that can also kick ...

Re: Eade, as a senior assistant?

Eade may have been tactically very good in the past, but it's a younger guys game now. He wants to be the number one man - the Coach, as can be seen from his move from the Pies to Gold Coast.

Joey will go to the media. In my view he would need outside experience in the coaching caper.

He is unusually well composed in his attack on the ball for a 3-gamer and could become a great defender. I think that it's getting close for Monty to now call it a day. We have plenty in the back half to work with.

Re: Shane Savage

He looked very doubtful earlier in the year. I have always liked his run and particularly, his accurate, penetrating kicking. Something that the side lacks.

Well done to Shane for getting himself back on top again - a difficult job in this highly competitive industry.
