The gambling aspect and umpiring should really be investigated so that it can be ruled out.

Acres, Long, Coffield, Clark, White and perhaps Marshall as keepers. Hopefully Billings is not pulling a Luke Ball act to get to the pies

Re: Umpires v Adelaide
I don't think it will be Bet360 who would be applying influence. Their betting would be open for all to see.
Cheaper than a cricket or soccer team, but may be more expensive than a tennis player. What is the current market for wooden spoon, 50 pt loss etc.

Re: UMPIRES
'Could an umpire influence a match by being paid by gamblers? Absolutely!'
This one gets mentioned from time to time. Are there checks in place to ensure it doesn't happen? Perhaps there should be as it does happen in other sports and the game can be open to interpretation by umpires.

Re: Lethlean going to Saints?!
Probably not the wisest appointment What a coup for us, getting a guy that 4 Clubs passed on! Which 4 clubs? Essendon, Carlton, Hawthorn and Collingwood were all searching for CEO's or high ranking positions this off-season. All were rumoured to have considered him and passed. Carlton were most pro...

Re: Why would anyone be a member of the Saints?
A sixty year supporter and before becoming a member I also traveled to interstate games which we invariably lost. We decided to save money and become reserved seat members and couldn't be happier. Travelling by train from Bendigo to Etihad takes some time but it is a hell of a lot quicker than tryin...

Perhaps using our membership number to register but hidden from view. Don't know how secret they are but something needs to be done as too many of these posters sound like outsiders just here to stir.

Re: Our Moneyball type rebuild has failed.
Looking at our wins and losses this year our win against the Eagles was special and the loss against the Dogs disappointing. What I am getting at, all other losses have been against bigger bodied teams. I suppose having Jake gives us something, but until our players can contest and tackle without be...

Re: Let's discuss umpires and cheating
I dont think the afl have much to do with it as there is too much goodwill at stake for them in a game which can be randomly umpired. Other sports have cheating due to the influence of betting and our game has to be wide open to this because when and where a free is paid is up to the umpires who can...

If the umpiring hadn't squashed all hope of a win in the last quarter I'm sure it would have been a much closer game.

Jaxons? Can't say too much but it is a smokescreen. Won't elaborate further so please don't ask. Well I think it is pretty fare to say that if you are into a gun player that it needs to be commenced seriously a year or more out. Waiting to near seasons end, or post season, may work for the lesser l...

Apart from being official mentors for other (younger) players what are the other roles of the leadership group? Are they guaranteed to be picked each week if fit? Do they get more money? Do they provide another level of consultation between coaches, club and players. It seems most players get a look...

I'd go with Jack Newnes now. Reports over the last few years have him as a pre-season high performer which has to earn him further respect on top of that which he earns week in and out during each season.
