Re: is Clark too slow?

whilst a wonderful inside player with skills on both sides, and vision hard to teach , is his lack of pace a limiting issue that makes trade talks understandable? I remember in the North game how easily Tarryn Thomas motored away from Clark as he ran in to score a goal. Clark has a loping running s...

Re: 5 lowest ranked players

Byrnes is the most overrated player on the list at the moment. Has way too many games where he can’t get near it. It’s why I’d rather try harder with a guy like Bytel. Sure Bytel is not a winger but can he do any worse going into the Centre here and there vs a winger than can’t get near it I know y...

Re: 5 lowest ranked players

Agree on Sharman. I was a big fan but if you can't hold the bread and butter marks, what's the point of trying to win a car? We seriously have some duds in our team and, yet, we really don't have anyone of quality to come back in - only Billings and Membrey (who seem to be well off the pace) and Jo...

Re: 5 lowest ranked players

I thought I stated they were young And I did say - at the moment If we look at their actual output over the year - forget the ages and names just purely their output- it’s not AFL standard Going purely on the numbers Key forwards that average less than 4 marks and a goal per game Half Forwards that...

Re: Had there ever been a more reviled player than Gresham?

This is a player who kicked 35 goals and starred in his second season! Injuries have played a part - but something isn’t right Will be a blue in 2024 and will tear it up I doubt he would be in their best 22 currently So, we’re likely to get Dow and they’re likely to get Gresham. Based on today - wh...

Re: Had there ever been a more reviled player than Gresham?

I think Raphael Clarke was considered worse Maybe. But my feeling on Ralph was that he was viewed by the faithful as being limited and more of a space cadet. Gresham to me represents the worst resource in any organisation - very talented, lazy, poor body language and an utter sm@rtarse . Doesn’t ev...

Re: Had there ever been a more reviled player than Gresham?

He’s really taken supporter disquiet to a new (low) level. I mean, there’s always the usual whipping boys (eg Ross, Howard etc) but they’re a bit more of an eye roll … rather than the genuine disgust, bordering on hatred - that pervades No. 4. I don’t know one of our supporters who even tries to de...

Re: Had there ever been a more reviled player than Gresham?

It’s a sad story really. I’ve been a big Gresh defender until I think this season. Early on he was on track to become an A-grade small forward, THEN the geniuses at the time tried to turn him into a midfielder and it was all done hill from there. I know he’s had a few injuries, but imagine if he’d ...

Higgins has just been signed for three years.
He had a good audition for the Dawks last week and back to his usual shite self for his audition for the Blues today.

The end of his time with us can’t come quick enough 😳

Think there might be quite a few who won’t be there next year. Not a bad thing too.

If I had the cash - I’d happily pay for Gresham to be sacked tonight.

It’s a B grade group at best. Crouch is a serious player but we don’t have much in the cupboard.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Blues Round 21 2023

Much better quarter, well on top, had our high pressure game going. Unfortunately Higgins and Gresh again showing their shortcomings. Got away with a few dodgy kicks across D50. Steele only 6 touches, not good enough from the captain, needs to get into the game this second half. You’re not at the g...

Re: Changes this week

For the first time this year i actually think there are a few options. Obviously training tomorrow will determine fitness of a few however it makes for some tough decisions. Hill, King, Membrey, Hayes, Coffield all seem likely options. Firstly looking at Carlton - Forward they have Curnow, DeKoning...

Re: Saints v blues team changes

Absolutely brilliant first quarter. Team footy at its best. It's amazing what you can achieve when you have an attacking mind set. Loved the goal barrage There probably needs to be a complete separate thread on that first quarter because we haven't had as good a 1st quarter like that since back in ...

I was really pissed off with that slap. He just shouldn't do it. He knows he will be caught so why be stupid? I get what you're saying but ... I loved that he smacked Sicily for putting his head where he shouldn't and let him know he wouldn't be bossed around. We're such a nice, non-confrontational...

Much like Malware, Spam and Phishing filters and security ... is there a Vortex one commercially available? That'll save heaps on database clogging and bandwith hogging.

He was immense yesterday. What suits him most is that he has a ¬10min / 3klm tank so he can get up and back. I've always loved Members' ability to hit the wings and work back but Sharman is a better runner. He dropped 3 cars yesterday too. One day it'll be a full on clunk fest for him

Re: Did Our Backline Look Better W/O Howard?

No, the backline didn’t look better without Howard. Structurally it looked worse. We looked as though we went in one big man down overall. Ideally Cordy would have been a straight replacement for Howard down back. Someone else - Hayes maybe if he were fit - would have helped with the triple-team on...

Re: Did Our Backline Look Better W/O Howard?

We've got very lucky with Howard's injury. He's needed when we play teams with 2 or more big forwards. We can cover one with Battle and Wilkie but not two. We'd be in all sorts this week if Harry was playing; Hawkins AND Cameron pose a problem but Hawkins looks injured now; Jack R AND Lynch would be...

Ashes retained! Don’t care how … just great to see Stokes / Crawley sooking it up at the presentation.

Bring Neeser in at The Oval and freshen up and then beat them 3-1 (even though the soap dodgers will still think they won 3-1).

Re: What do we need to improve in 2024?

We have very few players who kick the ball long. Wood, Marshall, Philllipou, and Hill. That's it. If Ross wants to go young, I'm all for it. We've targeted the wrong players for a decade or more. It's time to get some speed and skill into a stodgy midfield. You missed Mitch Owens out of that list o...
