https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pahVIxFM6q0 This one didn't get weeks. Times have changed. And Webster’s action was worse, lucky he didn’t cause more damage. Times have changed - 2 years ago? Yeah, nah. Worse? Really?? Last time I heard, Clark had his jaw broken. Pretty serious. How badly hurt is S...

Good that we got a win and got minutes into our younger players and new guys.
We also go into Round 1 with a winning feeling too, which is always good.

Re: Hunter Clark is injured again and looking at 6 weeks...

So, in recruiting players either by drafting or attracting them from other Clubs, the caveat with the St Kilda FC is that if you cop a couple of injuries which cost you game time, and which happen in the AFL competition some injuries costing a season, you are on your bike. St Kilda FC does not want...

Don't reckon we'll see that today. RL will be looking to see who can do the job at Geelong if Battle can't. Cordy would be best suited.

Re: Team vs Roos Preseason Game

Very weak team this. North should beat us comfortably.... Yeah, nah. North was only able to win one game out of their last twenty-one against the most underperforming team in the league last year and given it was off Broadway in Tassie, I don't think the Suns even tried much after half time in that...

Having been to a lot of Saints Roos games at Marvel, I think you should be fine to buy on the day. Because there is seven of you and you probably want a good vantage point, buy them a couple of weeks before on the ticketmaster website. But getting the tickets won't be an issue.

Re: Injury update

Port hadn’t even been inside 50 by the time of the ground invasion. The way things were going we could easily have been 6 goals up by quarter time, had Port not had that chance to regroup. The way we started that game was some of the most scintillating footy I’ve ever seen us play. I suppose the ot...

Re: I'm tired of it YOY

Let's face it. North are going to be a bottom six team for a decade.
Goldstein, McKay, Cunnington, Ziebell and Thomas all leaving at once leaves them terribly exposed.
Without those guys and guys like Brown, they are going to struggle for years.

Re: Bogy team(s)

I think based on not only 2023, but since 2020, the bogy teams definitely seem to now be Port Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane Lions, Collingwood and the Crows. Given that four of those sides have been top 4 for much of the decade so far, it's hardly surprising. Bar those five, I am pretty confident of...

Luke Stubbs' perceptive take on Ross at Saints

This video was made 11 months ago, before the 2023 Saints had played a match against opposition in anger. His analysis on what RL might bring to the StKFC turned out to be pretty accurate. One thing I found very interesting was that he includes data Jake from Saints TV unpacked that during the 2022 ...

Re: I'm tired of it YOY

Year on year is usually an financial term to describe comparisons between years. In reality, positions 4-14 are very close and I don't think you can even come close to picking a top 8. It will almost certainly come down to luck and injuries. The comp equalisation strategy is finally working. Until ...

Re: Bogy team(s)

It must be the Adelaide-based teams. Geelong at Sleepy Hollow only. We've beaten them away from their taxpayer-funded dung heap often enough to disqualify them from true bogey status. As for those Adelaide teams, as other posters have pointed out, we don't get many chances to play them at our home....

We've not beaten Geelong twice in a row since 2010. Round 1 presents a nice opportunity to end that.

Re: David King on St Kilda 2024

We are not as good a list as Sydney Untrue. This is vexing. On paper we should be better than Sydney - however - game against them are never easy to pick - they seem to have our measure some times - and we run over them others. As always - it depends on the St Kilda team who hop on the bus. Amen to...

Fair enough. But teams always had to play their best key back on him (and sometimes more than one defender). They (and we) won't have that problem anymore.

I think the real end of the 09/10 era was 2017 That was when Roo and Joey retired, Dempster finished up, Gilbert finished up. It was rebuilding time again!!! In Clark, Coffield and King Nah, there were a few retirements in that final match of 2013, Milney, Blake and Kosi, but we also lost Goddard, ...

Re: I would love the club to officially recognise Mike Patterson.

Anyone of my vintage would know (born '63), that St Kilda were sliding into the abyss just as we were hitting our teen years. We were too young for the glory, but now, he were gutted. Then came the 1978 season.... And it was as if we were back. Although we fell in a mighty hole mid-season, we recov...

We beat Sydney with pace and outside run last year at the SCG. I think we look like we will be a quicker team this year going by our inclusions.
