And how would Peckett and Powell be in todays game where leg speed is king? Answer is nowhere.

What experienced players have we lost in the last few years that haven't been replaced with equivalent or better players?

Since his position has been swapped with Sam Fisher, he's playing a lot less attacking than he used to be.

I believe the switch was made to make his opponent become more accountable for Gram's actions, and negating his own impact a little. It hasn't succeeded imo.

If we lost all our games and Carlton and Bulldogs both won at least one, we'd have 4th pick in the draft.

Who is suggesting we elevate a third of the team? Good form (in perspective of it being VFL and the opponents involved) warrants a look in for selection at least, given the form of a few current AFL players. If you totally discount VFL form we will never have any new players in the side unless injur...

"soon" is not good enough. We needed it desperately against Collingwood, Sydney, and the Dogs.

I just think we're not up to what's expected due to our gameplan and lack of rotations.

We (the saints) actually trained at the Clayton Campus more than a few times over the past 3 or 4 years, although i'm not sure what the relationship was like between the two (St. KFC and MU).

The sports facilities there aren't too crash hot, there's a rather overcrowded Gym, but at least there's a decent size pool.

Would be great to drop down there between lectures and watch the guys train, although i'm finishing there this year.

Only while they're down!

Perhaps we need a kicking coach to help us kick when they're up.

Max still can't kick though. I guess that's why he's our FB!

He'll never play as "third tall" because that is a lot more of an attacking role, which he is not suited to, imo.

Baker is still in the top 3 in the saints team for mine. Can stop just about anyone, and I would say he's the second best stopper in the competition, behind Ling. However, Ling is the best played in the comp at present. Bastard red-head stepchild look and all. He has been given the green light this ...

Averaged 2 goals a game as a spearhead FF, Sweeney was kicking more goals than him. Kicked 7 last week with Sweeney playing VFL reserves (and kicked 4 there), but that's no real indication of consistent form.

Voss, Ferguson can all play HF. Both good in the air and good readers of the play. They are what we need for our structure, not half-arsed midfielders who give our opponents the ascendancy when put in the middle, and can't play half forward to save their lives. I'd even be tempted to put Gram or S. ...

You can only play against the opposition given.

He won't be selected this week (and rightly so), but it will be interesting to see how he backs up his performance in the VFL.

Playing well in the VFL, but i'm unsure if his attributes - strength, height, marking ability are what is needed in the current format of AFL footy, where pace is king. The fact is that most marks in forward 50 these days are achieved on the lead, not 1 on 1 with the opponent. Hands in the back rule...

What else is there to talk about?

Other than reminiscing over good times, not a lot.

There are lots of good discussions on our players, especially the youngsters and how they are travelling. Everyone is unanimous about Sam Gilbert, Attard has surprised (but is turning in favour with some).

No mention of Gilbert on SEN medical report.

ABC radio at the time speculated cramp.
