Re: Draft mix? Fwds/Mids/Def
one of each...if Fisher and Dempster call it quits, then we have Delaney, GIlbert (with worrying injuries), maybe Bruce (who seems preffered in the fwd line), Roberton or Simkin for the talls...Delaney is the only one there with any real reliability. with all the talk of mids vs fwds, I reckon our ...

Re: Name your Picks. 1, 21, 22 and 41 + rookie
I have as a matter of fact! Goddard would be handy to slip through. A couple of guys will fall through. Weller? Cockatoo? Goddard as likely as anyone. On the BF one I went McGrath at 41.chook23 wrote:been reading emmaVerdun66 wrote:1. McCartin

Re: McCartin
Thanks Doc. Was about to post something similar but my head was hurting. We could still go either way. And to think I actually really want Angus Brayshaw at our club! All the experts are split right down the middle. A couple of late drafts have Petracca drifting out to 5, but I don't actually believ...

Re: McCartin
I have got no idea whether the club would/should take Petracca or McCartin. I trust the recruiters to get things right. But surely who we pick is also dependent on what is available in 2015. Any predictions of what the top end talent next year is like - better talls or mids Mids dominate the next t...

Re: McCartin
I think it's becoming increasingly obvious that the gap between Petracca and McCartin is a lot narrower than a lot of armchair experts think. It is not a slam dunk; there really is a decision to make. With that in mind I think we need to cut the recruiters a bit of slack, whatever the outcome. I'm ...

Re: McCartin
We'll I'm confused. Some say big goal kicking forwards are passé, overrated and totally reliant on mids to deliver the ball to them. We are told mids win games/flags. Yet one modern, hip, young team seems keen to collect as many of these big goal slotters as possible. And yet another team is prepar...

Story suggesting that despite Jaksch wanting to go to Carlton, Carlton's other prospective trades may interfer.
They suggest St Kilda could become his second choice.
GWS may want pick No 1 in return for pick No 4 and Jaksch.
How would people react to that.

Pick 1, 21, and a player for Picks 2 and 3 maybe. They get Petracca, and ? And ?. We get Brayshaw and McCartin.
Depends on who our player was I suppose if this was if this was on the cards.

Re: Rod Owen Story
Ross Smith was mentioned earlier as one to jettison out of the TOTC. Ross was substance over style. Not flashy, skills pretty reasonable, not overly quick, and quite small. Allan Jeans described him as 'quite possibly' the finest person he coached. Because he wasn't flashy he was often under rated. ...

Webster is my one pick. Does elite things. When he is 25 he will be, with luck, a very good footballer.

Malthouse is the one Richo refers too when he talks of over-emotional coaching boxes. Unhinged is the way he talks of Malthouse.

I got down to the 8 gamers and thought that was far enough! So maybe there is more than 20 or one of the others didn't play in the GF. Unbelievable effort there John. I wonder what the figures are for other clubs? Some were suggesting our figure was high, but I find it hard to believe that the same...

Re: Saints who have left to win flags
Well if we'd won more premierships we'd have more players from other clubs as well. That's an interesting point. I'm not sure we had anyone? Can anyone confirm if any of the 66 boys came to us from other VFL clubs? None came from other VFL clubs. Stewart and Davis left later for other clubs, as did...

If you cant imagine what success looks like at the JO look no further than the Rabbitohs. Sydney City Council upgraded Redfern Oval in 2008/9 for $20m bucks as their training facility. Classic inner urban club culture. 3km from the CBD. Huge following all over NSW. Real momentum these last 5 years....

Re: We must hunt Hawthorns Intersanctum and pay$$$$
Better to create our own successful core of football people than believe that there are people with special super-hero powers from other clubs Hawthorn has been just as hit or miss with it's national draft selections in the past 10 years as most clubs, but it has done remarkably well with rookies a...
