Re: McCartin V Wright
The reported offer from the 2014 trade period was GWS giving us pick 4 & 7 in exchange for pick 1 in order to get Petracca. With Wright, who is looking like a beast taken at pick 8 and McCartin potentially still around at pick 4, perhaps we missed a great opportunity in our rebuild. Discuss. Me...

Re: free kicks
How we couldd lose the free kick count in this week's game 19 -15 id beyound me. Oh, I forgot the maggot awarding most of the frees to the scumbags was a former scumbag himself. Bannister was very good actually. The final count was effected by the 3 soft freebies in front of goal that they got in t...

Re: Jade Gresham
Can someone explain to me what Gresham is? his role confuses me because he doesn't seem to cope with playing up forward. seems to get caught out a lot and his defensive/man marking seems suspect. I'm sure the kids going to be good, he statistically tested very very well at the combine and was highl...

Re: Goal Kicking coaching?
We've got Lindsay Gilbee as a development coach. One of the best kicking coaches going around. He turned Brucey from an awkward, inefficient kick to a very good field kick & sound kick for goal. It's true that Paddy needs some consistency in his action, which I'm sure will come as he gets experi...

In an ideal world Hurley does the same thing & becomes a FA at the end of 2017.

Re: Sam Gilbert
Bloody hell, too many people are quick to think he's the second coming just because he wears our colours. I think Gilbo has some really good qualities - but does that mean we can't discuss the things that have stopped him from becoming a really top defender? He's so unreliable when in possession an...

Re: Get Excited
It scares me that Richo is starting to focus on wins rather than development. I know it's probably unfair to jump on this line in isolation but Richo had the following set up for at least 1 centre bounce during the 3rd quarter (when it was still game on); Bruce Acres Gresham Dunstan Against Goldste...

This is hilarious...the writer is a Melbourne supporter by any chance? Melbourne seem to be on the verge of avoiding another rebuild this decade, they may even beat us during the same period. He's an Essendope supporter. Old De Stoop made international news when a sports report he was doing was 'cr...

Re: Sam Gilbert
Chips screamed at Sav to take the kick in but was ignored by Sav (who ran to give Gilbo a short option). It looked to me like most of our blokes ran to the flanks to give options rather than get numbers up the middle.

Re: 2 games clear of Freo after 6 rounds!
I think the reason Lyon gets to me is this. He was a good coach for us insofar as he found a way for us to win games. But the players were subjugated to the method. He inherited this fantastic list but instead of encouraging them to play to their strengths and finding a style that suited the team, ...

Re: April 17, 1993 @ Vic Park - Who was there?
I was 18, in the outer with a few Collingwood supporting mates from school. I remember having a bit of a too & fro with a voice behind me... when I eventually turned around he was a monster of a man, fortunately the mouthing off didn't escalate. I do recall a lot of feeling in the crowd that day...

Who is Pelchen working for ATM Wonder what the coaches and recruiters at those clubs think of him? A few must rate him pretty highly given that at least 5 have signed up to his $50K per season recruiting network. You're right that he didn't recruit anyone (he was part of the recruiting team with Tr...

Re: McCartin
Paddy took a mark right in front of us in the VFL at Vic Park last season that just about burst the footy. It was a miserable, sodden day & there had only been a handful of contested marks taken all day. On the outer flank a pack formed from which Paddy burst & took a massive clunking mark.....

Really sad to hear of Tom's passing.
I didn't realise that Tom's alter ego was Saintsational legend Eastern.
While I never met Tom, I enjoyed our interactions on Twitter & his opinions/love for the mighty Saints.
Vale Tom & sincere condolences to his family & friends.

Re: Positives
McCartin had an average draft year by number 1 pick standards. He looked better as an underager tbh. Kicked 6 in a game & crunched Dom Sheed like a freight train busting Dom's shoulder. It was pretty much consensus among recruiters that Petracca was pick 1. I recall an arrival stating all but 2...

You're right... Sincas is a ripper & will be a major player in our midfield when we're back challenging.
Anyone who leaves him out of their best 22 is short sighted at best.

Re: How will our key backs structure up?
Long term I wouldn't be surprised if Goddard ends up at CHF, with Paddy the 'deep' forward & Bruce roaming around. A lot of supporters forget how good Delaney was in 2014, he was an absolute rock in defence. His disposal is an issue however & teams drop off him when he has the ball & wai...

Much prefer having Membrey in our lineup to be honest. Tough and a huge competitor...I reckon he'll be a much better player than Lynch when both of their careers are done & dusted.
We've made out like bandits getting Newnes for Lynch IMO.
