Re: What Did That Half Of Footy Prove?

Not buying this "play 4 quarters" stuff.

3/4 time Richmond huddle, Hardwick would be screaming at his players to show something to take in to next week. While the message in the St.Kilda huddle would've been, we've got the 4 points, nothing silly, let's just get through with no injuries.

My guess is that AR gave Dempster 5 for some role he played in the team that 75% of supporters wouldn't have a clue about.

Sliding Doors moment

Watching Geelong dismantle us on the weekend got me to thinking how different both teams fortunes could've been after 2009 if we had of beaten them in the '09 Grand Final. We win that game, Geelong suffers two GF losses in a row and as we all know too well, that does not bode well for a team moving ...

Why did Joel Smith leave?

Watching the Roos/Saints game from 97 the other day and it got me to thinking. I still don't really know why he left us for Hawthorn after his knee injury. Can someone please enlighten me?

If McQualter comes on to replace Fisher, we are screwed.

I'm positive the plan was to replace Mini with either Kosi or Stanley. That has to be the plan.

Bloody Dal Santo. They should've retired #26 after Joe McClaren (The real JOEY as far as I'm concerned!) retired.

I choose to remember the first time I saw his gorgeous sidestep. And his goal in the fiirst grand final that really gave me an oppurtunity to believe. I can't see him being sacked or walking out of the club. I'm hoping that he uses this incident to train hard, improve his game and try and win back t...

The thing that irks me the most about the draw, was the Cloke goal to put the Pies up by a point. BJ was in prime position to take the match-saving mark. Dawes was heading towards BJ ready to make a contest. BJ braces for the contact and Dawes goes down like a weak POS. Shaw comes over the top, ball...

I'd have to agree. If you're in the cheersquad, it's not so bad to make a bit of noise to fire the boys up if they're down. But if you're a smart, knowledgable supporter in the stands, you wait until there's something to cheer about before you start cheering. I know what I'd tell an opposition suppo...

The funny thing about that loss to Melbourne at the end of '02, was that in the Victory Room after the game, I was on the hunt for signatures and Kosi signed his with a 23. Not even 2 hours after he had the jumper he was already using Bucket's #.

I guess that only adds to the pain. But I think I'd rather have lost by less than a kick this week after last week's draw. If only to be able to have something to fall back on when I'm getting chastised by Filth supporters. It's pretty hard to argue anything when you lose by 56 points. Even with a d...

The "At least it wasn't close" myth

I have been told by numerous neutral fans this week that, "At least it wasn't close" I used to be of that theory, but I think I've changed my tune. I mean, honestly, how bad was it sitting there watching the 3rd and/or 4th quarters on Saturday? From the 2 minute mark of the 3rd quarter to ...
