But we have the following players whose main job it is to kick goals....... Gehrig Kosi Riewoldt Milne Schneider It wasn't because the midfield didn't kick enough goals that we lost, it was because they didn't win enough ball and then use it effectively to deliver enough opportunities to the above ...

Yep, apart from Hayes and Harves and Ball's try hard efforts (as he really is a shadow of the player he once was), the rest were as soft as butter tonight. Dal Santo, Montagna, the Clarkes, Fiora and Blake were very poor. Can't be serious challengers with so many pretenders. The Doggies smashed us i...

I think that a softly-softly approach is the way to go. For a guy that hasn't played much footy since '05 it's a big step up. I'd rather him ready and firing to go against Geelong, and we can use King and Koschitzke in the Ruck this week. The rumour is a calf strain, and in that case he would proba...

We should not lose this game with the team we have named. If we do then we are dead set kidding ourselves. One thing has already become apparent this season after two rounds and that is Geelong being miles ahead of everyone else. One thing that needs to be discovered is which team can rise to chall...

Give me Clint Jones any day...knows what havin a crack is all about. Seemed everyone but me was bagging Clint Jones only a month ago...Can I finally say...."Told you so?" Just like blokes who have a dip......C.J. has a DIP He sure does. Fiora needs to take a leaf out of this CJ's book.

Ball is still on the bench. Please watch Fiora's pathetic effort when that Essendon guy marked on the half time siren. How weak and pathetic :!: Rix was out of position but made an effort, Fiora did the 'Fiona' thing that he is reknowned for. Him and Birss need to make way for another two kids. They...

The guys on SEN couldn't figure out whether Birss was injured or dreadfully slow. I know he's very much one paced, but was he injured or is he really struggling? Either way, Geary's well in front of him and so is Eddy, too. Imo, Milne is an integral part of the team. Sure he makes mistakes and stuf...

Re: Gutsy top win but not happy with Birss, Milne & Fior
Fair enough as long as you dont have a basis like other people do. I don't have a bias with Milney and I do hope he proves me wrong this season because many supporters like him but he is beginning to remind me of a cameo, fringe player like Ronnie Burns was at Geelong (and we all know what happened...

Re: Gutsy top win but not happy with Birss, Milne & Fior
Milne's second half was great. Please watch the game. Agree on the other two though. Plugger66, I did watch and although he touched the ball a few times and kicked a goal in the second half, he didn't do much. All the SEN guys are saying the same thing about him as I write this. Milne is not damagi...

Gutsy top win but not happy with Birss, Milne & Fiora
The win was great and credit goes to many of the kids today, like Geary, Eddy, Armitage, Allen and little Jack Steven. Well done to them after getting those key injuries. However, a couple of those rookie kids already deserve a spot in front of Birss for sure. He is as soft as butter and Milne &...

Well if it is purely a case of being careful, I see no harm with giving both, but in particular Gardiner, some badly needed match time, especially with the NAB Cup's extended bench. However, if they have some niggling fitness issue well that isn't promising for two already well renowned, injury-pron...

It seems as if some people on this forum are never going to get over GT. MB, my issue is not what GT did or didn't do. It is the public pronouncement he made on SEN a couple of weeks ago that 'you should never trade away your early draft picks'. No qualification was made to that statement by him. H...

Thomas Regime & Brooks, Watts & McQualter
Well if it is true that these 3 have gone, what does it say about the Thomas' foresight in recruiting young players. What a complete waste of first round picks! He professes to know so much on the airwaves about what's best for the club yet failure to bring on quality new blood into the team since 2...

Re: Harves
GT on SEN now. Just said that were he still in charge, he'd have told Harvey that it was time to quit as the club had to move on. Nuff said. What a wank of a comment. This is the same guy who never looked to the future by trying to introduce a young newcomer into our midfield to inject some badly n...

As a footy player I have huge respect for Spud. However, the way he has handled himself since retirement in the media and coaching circles leaves a lot to be desired. Absolutely spot on. Doesn't seem like a terribly shrewed bloke, to be honest. But he timed the sale and subsequent capital gain on h...
