Re: Tigers offer Dusty 800K. Should we trump them?

No we shouldn't trump them.

He's a very good player, but I think there would be better targets for us out there.

For all Dusty's attributes, he's a bit overrated in that a lot of his possessions don't do much.

Re: Two way street

The question is not have we forgotten that Dogs are good and improving (we have not), nor that we lost to them (as all but the most "rose tinted glasses brigade" would have have expected to lose), BUT very much HOW we lost. One can lose, but we were absolately pitiful with ball use and de...

Re: Two way street

No one can quite work out what went wrong, perhaps the coaches planned too deeply ( a lot of work went into this game ), and maybe the players tried just too hard. Who knows, but I will reiterate , the coaches and players really hurt. Do people forget that the Dogs were a couple of kicks away from ...

Re: Changes against the Dogs

First off, there is 0% chance Geary gets dropped this week. It just won't happen. His disposal is awful (which has been evident for years), but he's in the leadership group and he plays on forward of all sizes. The one like-for-like youngster (Wright) isn't in blistering form right now. Sinclair is ...

Re: GEARY

Geary will play until DMac or Rice are ready to take his spot. They might be a few years away. Certainly wont be this year and probably not next. 2018 I think Geary will lose his spot in the side. But that is 43 games he still has to play. That takes him beyond the 150 career game mark. ' This is t...

Re: 8 goals in 8 quarters

Been really disappointed that Armo has completely trailed off in the later stages of the year. These last two weeks are when we needed him to lead the way in the midfield the most. The good thing about these last two weeks (and the Freo game) is that it shines a bright light on the weaknesses of the...

Re: Siposs, White and Markworth

Markworth is the only one of the three that's a chance to get a game this year. And that's mainly because he hasn't had that chance over the past two seasons, rather than his form this year for Sandy. The clock was ticking on Spencer ever since he received only a one year contract last year - i.e. t...

Re: Potential Future A-Graders

Amazing that Luke Dunstan, 32 games in with a Rising Star nomination and Brownlow votes under his belt already, only has 7 votes while Blake Acres has 12. Sounds like a lot considering Acres has shown very little in his 8 games so far. Short memories? Or has Dunstan's second year really been that b...

Was surprised by his pace. Looked genuinely quick at stages. Promising game. This is a case of my having to say "me too". I was in bay 38 39 or thereabouts. His turn of speed to pass and outrun two weagles actually delighted me. I thought he was slow. He seems to be slow off the first ste...

Re: Development of Forwards

None of the guys mentioned are high-quality talent wise. Tommy Walsh got nowhere near breaking into the side at Sydney. Beau Maister was at WC for a long time and never cut the mustard there either. The only one of those guys named that was perhaps a missed opportunity for the Saints was Tom Lynch. ...

Re: Skill level

People highlight Hawthorn's kicking skills a lot (with good reason), and it's undoubtedly a factor for them, but I actually thought the main difference in skill on Thursday was in ball-handling and quick handpassing in close around congestion/stoppages. St Kilda fumbled so much in close compared to ...

3 is my guess.

But, if we have a healthy Fisher, Steven and Riewoldt then we can be more competitive in more games.

Re: How many wins this year?

Our backline is good. Our fwd line (when Roo plays) is passable. But our midfield is the worst in the AFL. That's a good and succinct way to break it down. Our backline does look a bit more solid with a healthy Fisher down there, but with the amount of inside 50s we're going to concede they're stil...

Re: Petracca Vs McCartin

Whether the game has changed so much that key forwards are no longer of the same value as they once were is up for debate (Sydney are doing quite well). But one thing is for certain: the running game is here to stay and teams with a quality, deep midfield will always have a competitiveness about them.

2015 rock bottom, 2016 if our current youth doesn't live up to their hype in 3rd+ year. 2017 should be good if this years draftees don't bomb Rebuilds aren't easy and there are no guarantees who you draft will go on and become a club stalwart.... especially with talls.. Re: Goal kickers needed....

One thing we need is for the midfield to kick more goals, rather than kick sideways or look for a covered Roo to kick to. Too many players are getting to 60 metres from goal and automatically look for Roo instead of backing their judgement and going all the way to goal. I agree that the midfielders...

I think something that has delayed Lee's inclusion has been Rhys Stanley's form (particularly in the last two games). I reckon Richo and co. will have been fairly pleased with the structure we've had up forward with Roo and Rhys, and Billings supporting. Prior to that we were playing with 3 talls up...

Ross is really not set for a Hawthorn type. Sounds like Weller is kicking the door down and Schneider is a no brainer Playing the young guys, like Ross shouldn't revolve around who the opposition is. We will get beaten by Hawthorn whether Ross plays or not. It's about developing the youngsters (inc...
