Re: In a way the Hawks will be the ultimate test .
Saints won't go anywhere if they can't beat Hawthorn. Bottom 6 team. It shouldn't be a major concern for a team vying for the premiership. Eg StKilda circa 2010 would have a query on their ability to win thus game? Therefore that is where the Saints are at. A long way off the pace at the moment. We...

Re: Ins and Outs
If Henry is fit, he comes in for Byrnes.
Otherwise, no change.
Would like to see Schoenmakers in for Bonner, but four first year players is too many at once.
Jones and Dow didn't do enough on Sunday to earn a game.

We have an 8-9 record in Tasmania.
6-6 at York Park in Launceston.
2-2 vs Hawthorn in Launceston.
It is meant to be 19° and sunny in Launceston on Saturday.

Re: Mattaes Phillipou
Some absolute couch fools on this forum. Anyone who watched the game live would know Luke McDonald, being the opponent focused tool that he is, was at Phillipou from the first minute. Pushed, poked, punched and scragged Mattaes all game. He didn’t give him an inch. Something Phillipou has never expe...

Re: Things we must do v North
North Melbourne have conceded 100 points or more in every game this year, and average just 71 points a game.
We average 73 points a game.
North have have actually kicked more goals than us in 2024.
We need to score 80+ in my opinion. We've only done that once in our last 9 games.

Re: Team v Roos
Hayes is clearly in to support Marshall.
Xerri bashed and smashed Rowan all day in the practice match at Moorabbin, and probably got the better of him.
The presence of Hayes allows Marshall to rest forward and ensures Xerri will be chasing two blokes with huge tanks all day.

Re: The Jimmy Situation
Some people have rated Bonner's games but I struggle to see the positives. He has no defensive game at all and plays a bruise free timid game IMO. We need an effective lockdown small defender so I think if Webster is ready he comes straight in to replace Bonner or Stocker. Bonner is a stats padder ...

Paton was good in the VFL last week and has now had two hit outs, he should be first choice.

Last two weeks…
18 for
46 against
Something isn’t right.
Could be us, could be the opposition, could be the umps, but is most likely a combination of all.

Re: Our form
There is a reason why we have won 27 wooden spoons, tune in to Saints games weekly, yearly if you are unsure why. Is there any truth in the rumour some want Linton Street's suburb name changed to Losersville.  In the AFL era we have two wooden spoons. And we won’t be adding to that any t...

Our form against Port Adelaide however, is particularly concerning.
1 win from our last 13. Eight of which we've led in the final term, including the last three.
6 wins from our last 30.

Perfect opportunity for all selected to show a bit of heart and effort.
King, Wood, Dow, Webster, Paton, Hayes, Clark, Crouch and Henry all becoming available over the next few weeks will create fierce competition for spots.
Those in the team have tonight to prove their worth.

Re: Attendance v Dogs
We do not play a home game on a weekend until Round 8. Meaning most children and elderly are unable to attend a game until May. It's ridiculous fixturing. By Friday night we'll have played more away games in Adelaide than home games at Docklands. The club was always going to be up against it to get ...

Re: The Eagles
Based on the bizarre theory in the OP, West Coast are as good as, if not better, than Brisbane.
Therefore, we are also as good as Brisbane.
So we've beaten the reigning premiers, and we're equal to the runners up. Why is everyone so angry?

Re: Ross Lyon had a slap in the face tonight
Biggest loss under Ross Lyon is 61pts vs Carlton in Round 7, 2010.
We lost the next week too, then went on to lose just 3 of our next 16 on our way to a Grand FInal.
Seems it wasn't so hard to come back from.

Must win 3 of the next 5. Should win 4.
Anything less than 5-5 and we're very unlikely to feature in September.

Re: In Garcia, Windhager Out Hastie Jones
I also think it’s fkn disgusting to debut players as Subs Probably the biggest moment in their lives, they get at best a quarter. I can tell you, your first senior game, the first half an hour is a blur, you legs go heavy and your out of breath the whole time - it’s pretty normal to take a quarter ...
