Spare ticket for Freo game

I have a spare ticket for the Freo game this sunday - one only, in the nosebleed section with the rest of the St Kilda allocation. I will give it to a WA member of St Kilda but you will have to get it from me either today/tomorrow or at the pre game function. You will have to show me your membership...

what i'm happy about (after checking broadcast schedule)

being able to watch st kilda on the television in WA - but not this week. oh no: 5 games they have shown of us playing since round 10, awesome. (that is shown before midnight) 2 of those were against West Coast and Freo - so they had to be shown. 3 games of St Kilda since round 10 - that makes me ha...

Gee some hard marking there MSG - at a glance looks like an average of about 6.5-7 in arguably our best performance of the season. plenty of room to improve there!

you obviously have high expectations for individuals. I would like to see you give us a team rating for overall performance.

Lessons from Blight

in a less emotionally charged post: i thought the most interesting quote in the Blight article was the one where Blights committment was questioned early on in his tenure. [quote="stinger"] At the time Butterss told the media: "We were of the view that Malcolm Blight did not embrace o...

for a kid to come straight from the u/18s into an AFL side and not only hold his position but be one of their better players isn't a bad effort. you can't tell me that playing AFL is easy compared to the 18s, especially phyiscally. most other kids probably would have needed a rest before rd13 after ...

LT injury list and rookies

How many blokes do we have on our long term injury list? Is Goose the only one? I was just wondering about the promotion of rookies. Attard is listed as returning in about 6 weeks time, perhaps the elevation will be preserved for him considering his form/improvement last year... n.b. just as i finis...

when 10 of the 16 team are below the average (about $8m) and the leader is reaping in double that in a 'fair' competition i.e. salary cap, draft we dont have a good deal

he may be a bit slower nowdays, but he still makes good decisions with the ball and sometimes that is far more important - would you like a goal to result from his decision or a turnover?

His experience is invaluble and his use as a motivational factor intangible

Unless I'm very much mistaken there are no advertising logo's on NFL or MLB on-field gear?? i dare say the size of the market has a lot to do with that. compare the 20 million australians of which each club can get about 25-30,000 members to the size of the US of 300 million and you have a lot more...

and that would be why those teams spent more than a year or two at the peak (because they are doing more with what they've got), or their 'dips' would not go as low.

your opinion is not inconsistent with what was proposed, in fact it supports it.

could it be that the extra volatility seen post 1990 could be in part due to the introduction of the salary cap, draft etc... effectively showing that football goes in cycles, making the comp fairer as compared to prior decades where the powerful clubs were able to dominate??? such, the peaks and tr...

Fair, but i'm not sure if that is the way we should be heading. it seems that the game is evolving such that you do not want 1 or 2 targets with others chipping in, instead you need a variety of options that are consistently dangerous. in the 'traditional' structure, if your targets are not on song,...

Full forwards still need to be able to move and Big Red has never been the quickest about. A bloke named Lockett kicked a few goals coz he was one of the fastest over 20m at the club, Gehrig as we all know was a big rig but was a young tearaway... Unless you can make a holographic image of a Mars Ba...

I reckon he fits in well with St Kilda "culture" too. There is a Charlie Gardner hospital in WA, so almost seems like destiny for him to come to the Saints. Will compliment our wing at the Epworth nicely!
