I'm no expert and have wondered the same about the roos and blues. I guess players need it kept simple. Seems like this is what these caretaker coaches do.

These boys were playing with so much confidence at the start of the season. How the eff does richo manage to strip them of all this. for gods sake he cannot coach. He is destroying these boys. and if I hear one more mention of free kicks I'll spew up
