He's right. Even if we make the 8, well be knocked out in the first week because we'll be playing someone that actually wants to win.

I'm at the game and were being smashed

Absolutely ripped apart besides the swans bad kicking for goal. 29 scoring shots to 15 now. Weve been poor against a team with s*** forwards and an average midfield. Nothing positive to take out of this game.

Bakes last night

On Higgins in the 3rd and 4th was brilliant, I think this matchup was the key to us winning in the end, he caned Higgins who was killing it up to that point. He showed glimpses of his old consistency which is what I really liked. I know he's on the nose this year and most have written him off but I ...

Cooney hasn't been at his best for 2-3 years now in my opinion, doesn't have a huge impact anymore. Hayes is much better.

I don't blame him. It reminded me of Banger's 350th, we got slaughtered by an average side - both deserved much better. Didn't we beat WCE over there in that one? I think he is reffering to Harvey's 300th against Melbourne where Neitz killed us. Yeah I meant his 300th against Melbourne, not his 350...

I'd say GWS is more realistic, if he's going anywhere at all, they'll be doing "under the table" deals alot more this year than Gold Coast. I'm not to sure about the trading rules this year but can the Suns still do hidden deals that don't get announced until the end of the year? I would h...

Fair post, this defensive gameplan is something Rossy has inherited from Roos and it worked in 08/09 and parts of 10, but it doesn't anymore. Paul Roos had the guts to move away from his own gameplan, which the Swans followed for 5 years, so Ross needs to change too.

SainterK is right, it actually helped Richmond - they stopped bombing it to the one bloke and thought more about their options up forward.

Re: Par for Daniel Archer

Maybe we should adopt a Collingwood type forward setup, and play Roo, Kosi and the arrow chucker as big targets with Milney and Schniederman cleaning up when it hits the ground. Also may need to start resting BJ,Monty and Dal on the half forward line instead of resting on the bench I remember when ...

Re: Nine umpires not enough?

Not one of them saw the ball deflect of Gwilt's hand before going through the goal. And none of the field umpires saw why he only had one hand up. I saw it from Sydney, when it happened live - didn't even need the replay. Having said that we got one back with Milne kicking that goal to put us 87-81...

Saints 41 hitouts vs. Tigers 35, however ours were spread across 8 players, theirs only 4. In terms of McEvoy vs. Angus Graham, it was Big Mac 26 vs Graham 30. I'm not overly impressed with that because Graham is pretty poor.

Erm, no.

The reason why it may appear that way is that these days, when Roo goes up in a pack, he's usually alone and up against 3 opposition players.

Blake isn't the best when it comes to total skill but he does what nobody else is doing at the moment - busting his arse off. He tries, and despite the fact he makes a few errors, he's one of the few that plays with Saints passion week in, week out.

Roos will never coach an AFL club again, mark my words. I'd happily take Malthouse but I doubt that will happen, he is contracted with Collingwood as football manager until the end of 2014. Despite Malthouse's flaws, his main attribute is something we are completely and utterly suffering in - 1) his...

Ross needs to come out and show some balls, players in this team EXPECT to be picked week on week and often do, despite pathetic performances! Put a bit of pressure on the playing group by making them aware of the younger guys pushing up below them (Cripps, Winmar, Stanley, Jack, Heyne e.g.) that wa...

Essendon!

Essendon has beaten us over the last few years when we've been at the absolute peak of our powers, when they've been a bottom 2 club - simply because of their pace. We face them next week, but amazingly we've gone backwards from last year in terms of pace. The Bombers are in great form all over the ...
