Re: Is umpire Umpire Foote a cheat or just blind

'You cannot touch a player after a mark has been awarded if you weren’t in the contest.' Currently the game is all about dishing out on 'acting'. Whenever there is something else to crack down on other that what the rules say, the book gets thrown out the window. Interpretation or dislike of acting ...

Re: Is umpire Umpire Foote a cheat or just blind

Neither Brisbane nor Saints are regarding as particularly 'high flying' teams in spite of what the ladder says. So we stil have to earn quality umpires. We have to put up with the quality of #2. I don't know if he 'hates' the Saints but his free kick count this season tells the story of interpreting...

Commentators covered themselves in glory today. Didn't look for replays that showed throwing. Barely commented on Paton's hit to the head.

Re: Is umpire Umpire Foote a cheat or just blind

It happens too often for Foote to be blind. He has a preconceived perspective which means he will see things in a particular way each time. Very hard to even get a fair go in 50/50 contest when the viewing perspective is already set. Foote is not blind he is ....

I struggle to see it as a 'contest' with this level of umpiring ineptitude no matter how hard Bruce huffs and puffs.

I really liked Phil Stevens. Brother-in-law of Rex Hunt and a real trier. Part of Saints during a Geelong Reserves phase.

If the cap fits ... CAP - itulation. Numb too. Was it - The bus trip? COVID? Feeling sorry for Acres? Umpiring? What about - Skills by hand and foot? The deer in the headlights? Discipline? Accountability? Sad day. Let's reset for next week. As Geronimo said at the battle of Liltle Bighorn, "I ...

Re: Leave your tributes here for Milney - to be printed

My son wears 44 on the back of his Saints jumper. He has a signed series of Milney photos on the wall in his room. He has played forward pocket for four years now, including two flags. His coach paid him the ultimate compliment when he said, "Ben 'Stevie Milne' shone up forward slotting three m...

Re: I was at the game today, and it was bloody hot!

I was there too and it was stinking hot. Blacktown/Rooty Hill lies in a bit of a bowl and lack of breeze can mean very still and hot conditions even on a warmish day. I was in my board shorts and sandals. Stupid outfit for the footy! Intensity certainly was lacking but it wasn't just the heat. Lots ...
