In this thread, there seem to be a lot of things blamed on our leadership group that are actually the responsibility of our coaching staff.
Eg, it’s hardly the fault of Steele, Wilkie or Marshall that our forward line is currently a complete mess.

Re: Which ex saints would you draft?
Riewoldt, Gehrig, Harves, Lenny
We could trade Max.
Dal, Kosi (2005 form) , Winmar, Hamill unlucky.
Lockett was an amazing player but the game has moved on.

Re: The guys that sing when we get goals
It sounds like a wonderful idea. Certainly better than having a drink every time we score a goal, which could leave one feeling a little thirsty. Plenty of drinks in this patch: Round 8 2004 St Kilda 21 12 Collingwood 13 13 Round 9 2004 St Kilda 26 13 West Coast 9 14 Round 10 2004 St Kilda 31 10 Ca...

Re: Innovate or perish. Part 2
So Joey seems basically to be saying that our defence and running half backs are pretty good and our midfield moves the ball forward ok, but our forward line is pretty crap. Especially in the absence of quality smalls like Higgins, Butler and Gresham. I agree with all that, but wasn’t that pretty cl...

Re: Team Saints V Melbourne
Uninspiring Underwhelming Ryan Byrnes 2 weeks ago worst on ground vs Box Hill Last week just OK vs a woeful Richmond VFL Agree with your first two points but you're missing a key point on Byrnes, the VFL game is on the same day. Byrnes won't play at either level. Extended bench selected to allow pl...

I used to think RTB 1.0 was sometimes trying to troll the fan base with his selections. He seems to be at it again this week. Seriously? Coach trolls fan base with selections? Get a grip. Re: Team Saints V Melbourne
WTF with Bonner keeping his spot and Byrnes coming back?! Sharman at least looks like he will only be an emergency.
Perhaps Byrnes is meant to run with Langdon, although I thought RTB didn’t like doing that sort of thing.

Re: Changes for Dees game
Out: Jones, Collard, Sharman and Paton In: Higgins, Sebby, Skunk and Clark I'd like to see both Lance boy and Coops play another game in the seniors. It's pointless bringing them in for just 1 game ...but we know what will probably happen I’d like to “see” Collard playing in the seniors. In 1.5 gam...

Re: Sack Lyon
I can simplify the above Fremantle used the ball cleanly. They knew where each other were when they had the ball in their hands and they gave it off to them. They had a good system of disposal that any good Club should have Thanks: sorry I did get a bit verbose there. There's something quite defens...

Re: Sack Lyon
The only good thing about last night was our defensive setup continuing to work well, as it has done for a few years now: it started to come good in 2021 and is largely the work of Enright. We are quite capable of containing the scoring of opponents to a level that we could beat if we could actually...

We’re poorly coached at present, but who is available to turn this slightly better than VFL standard list around?

Anyway. Chin up everybody.
The Saints didn’t lose tonight. It was some useless outfit called Euro-Yuroke.

Re: Sack Lyon
I expect he’ll be referred to as “embattled Saints coach, Ross Lyon” by someone in the media this week.
But I reckon he’ll need a few more bad losses before the board will act.

Battle has been excellent. Marshall, Windhager and Wilson too. NWM hasn't had one of his better games so far. If he can lift in the last quarter, we might get across the line.
It's nice to come up against a team that blows even more of its chances than we do.
