The new style would be just fine with me if we were winning most of our games. The dwindling handfull of fans of the new style on this forum tend to argue that - once the players get used to it, once we have a proper pre-season, once RL gets to shape the list the way he would like, etc, etc - we wil...

Sure, Baker played in the backline quite a lot in 2004, but in 2005 and 2006 he increasingly played in the midfield and not purely in a negative role. I don't think Bakes has ever beena high possession getter..... Career Season Averages (Since 2000) Year Team Games Kicks Handballs Disposals Marks G...

omg you don't draft youngsters expecting them to play regularly in their first year and usually if they do they are either superstars (ala Judd) or their develpment has already reached near it's peak. Only teams down near the bottom of the ladder play first years regualrly. Amazing some people here...

The above is a fascinating post, and I will take some time to crunch some number and respond in more detail than this... However I would like to address one thing that rises out of all the numbers above that comes up quite a bit. The Saints are doing no better defensively than they were in 2004-200...

Re: A stats overview 2004-2007.
Average Scores. For Agst Difference 2004 108 89 +19 2005 109 81 +24 2006 93 79 +14 2007 82 87 - 5 what this shows is that going back to 2004/2005 our defence is about the same, conceeding similar scores, however we are kicking on average 4 or 5 less goals a game. Which is ultimately the difference....

Maybe some of the Attard fans on this forum haven't been here very long. But I have sat through post after post on this forum dumping endless loads of excrement on the likes of TS 40, Blake, McGough and other players who tried their guts out every week, but whose talent was thought to be extremely l...

As much as I love him, structurally Chips is one player we could afford to lose. Don't take this the wrong way, but with Gilbert, Goose, Allen, Gram and BJ all young and capable of providing run from the backline (as well as playing tall), we certainly have the depth in this area. Knights + 2nd rou...

OK Otiman, as nobody else seems to want to have a go...... But I can't do it from 1 to 44, so I'll do it in groups ALREADY GOOD, AND UNLIKELY TO GET MUCH BETTER (OR ARE EVEN IN DECLINE) Baker (but badly out of form ATM) Ball (main issue is injury) Matthew Clarke Gehrig Hamill (injury an issue again)...

In response to your comments re: the gameplan meher baba ... you said in another thread that none of the Lyon supporters have responded. I don't disagree with how you have described it. All I agree with is the fact that, when executed properly with confidence and a fit 22, it works. It has worked f...

RL has said he wants us to play risk taking attacking football. RL has also said we dont play the flood. It continues to (but, I suppose, shouldn't) amaze me that RL is allowed to make these statements without being challenged by the gutless media contingent that hangs around the world of AFL like ...

i think you credit me with more cunning than I have MB. Well, I appreciate your post just as much as a piece of unconscious irony as I did when I thought you were being deliberately satirical. So, what you are saying is that Lyon appears to be deliberately refusing to promote the Casey players who ...

Really good s**t-stirring, tongue in cheek opening post Dan. I'm disappointed that nobody picked up the bait: I guess either because they didn't get your point, or else through choice because they wanted to post something serious about Casey. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that i appreciated ...

Reading through this thread again, I must say that I am disappointed that only I and a couple of other posters see any sort of a future at the club for Vossy, even as a backup player. He's only 29 FFS, which makes him the same age as, or younger than, the likes of Kirk, Hall, O'Loughlin, Milburn, Br...

All of this is a bit beside the point, except for B Voss. We already know that Gardi and Hamill will be on the list next season and there is little doubt that Fraser and Harves will be retained if they want to stay on (but, if Harves's form doesn't lift in the next 3 games, I think the club should b...

The 100 game benchmark is pretty arbitrary and distorts the true picture. The bulk of our regular first-teamers all featured in the 2000-02 drafts for us or other clubs: Kosi, Riewoldt, X, Goose, Dal, Joey, Ball, BJ, Gram, Fiora and Fish. On top of these, we have Chips, who is actually older than al...
