Re: saints interested in players already
I understand the club wanted to go back the draft again this year, but I wonder if the start to this season has them reassessing where they are at. I think we seriously need to bring in an elite midfielder in the LDU/McLuggage mould and another ruckman like a Ned Moyle or Nick Bryan, in lieu of more...

Re: Mid season draft
Rumours on BF that we are looking at bringing back Daniel McKenzie in the MSD. You would want to hope he has his hamstring & calf issues sorted if there is anything in it.

Here is the tweet: https://wwos.nine.com.au/videos/afl/afl-news-2024-mattaes-phillipou-manager-ross-lyon-comments/clw3esmfa00080hkcnfc43lkj I completely agree with the sentiment the kids are obviously not enjoying there footy. Re: RTB's Presser
The guy is a fraudulent 'snake oil' salesman. We are by far playing the worst brand of football I have ever seen this club play. He has duped the media and others into thinking he is some kind of super coach, but is just another bullshytting salesman taking the clubs money. It wouldnt matter if he g...

Re: Is it time to play Pou at HBF
He’s in the mould of Bont / Fyfe / Tom Green. Why? What have you seen from his 30 games so far that allows the comparison? He’s that big bodied midfielder that kicks goals. I Except he's not. Not even close. The only thing we can say about him so far is that he's big bodied. He's looked completely ...

Re: Hunter Clark
Good news for both Hunter and Fruity. Hunts knee escaped any serious injury. And to dispel any doubts Clark’s pre season with running and weights was first class. Doesn’t mean he enjoys the weights session, but he does it. Van Es likely to go on long term injury list Imo the club have really let hi...

Re: Hunter Clark
Feel sorry for Hunter if it's a serious knee issue. One thing after another, and must be wondering if it's going to happen for him. I think we have to consider Crouch's career just about over. Excellent pick up for us while it lasted. I dont at all. It's the old story he hasnt put in the work in ph...

Re: Players who can land a set shot
Everyone knows the ball carries further when playing at Marvel. We take a lot of marks around the 50 metre area and when that occurs the opposition have usually flooded back to fill most holes. If our players cant spot up a decent lead eg Hayes I would like to see our capable players back themselves...

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Kangas
I watched the game and IMO Sandringham were lucky to get away with a win. They played well in patches but Norths run and gun handball out of defence cut them up at times. Campbell was huge with his clearances and around the ground marking, but I dont know if he was injured in the last quarter he did...

Re: VFL vs North
Surprise Sandi bombing it long into F50 and wasting dominant period. North out marked them on most occasions, the Sandi forwards are all one out none of them work to block for a team mate. Its something that we are really poor at at AFL in our F50, so shouldn't expect any difference here. Put a line...

Re: VFL vs North
Collard a lot more involved today looking good. Heath missed an absolute shocker directly in front. Campbell dominating again. Jones every where but doesnt hurt the opposition with his possession. OConnell starting to find his niche. Blamires and Zagari good. Hunter Clark has hurt a knee again, the ...

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Roos
A good win, but gees we are a long way from playing decent footy again.
Max Kings effort tonight was completely sub standard pathetic. His 2nd efforts are non existent and his chasing is half hearted at best. He plays like a big spoilt kid and to think he is one of our highest paid players.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Roos
Good first half. Still made some errors, and I hate the slow backwards to go forward movement, but I guess that is just about controlling the footy. Having Webster back has allowed Sinclair into the midfield. His clearance poise is something of beauty. Windhager had his best half of footy, what a di...

Re: Team v Roos
I like the ins and outs. If any one watched the VFL game last week, Hayes was enormous. He was clunking everything, did well in the ruck and laid some big tackles. Definitely warranted selection. He did more in that game than Sharman had done all season and that’s coming from a Sharman fan. I notic...

Re: Saints NGA article: Sam Linder
The AFL are presently looking at changing the rules, either way I doubt any get selected before pick 40. Hopefully the rules change prior, but we will still need picks or points to grab them.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Thu 02 May 2024 7:32pm I really don’t see the point of having an NGA when you don’t have priority access to high end talent.

Re: Team v Roos
Great to see the changes made. Hopefully Hayes can remind us of why he was picked up and take some pressure off King & Marshall. He is exactly the player we need to stand up. Webster is much higher rated internally than he is in the supporter base and will stiffen our defence considerably. Losin...

Re: Saints NGA article: Sam Linder
Sounds like a good kid, obviously highly rated at the Dragons being VC. Its interesting that this year we will have 3 x possible NGA's Cole, Linder & Hoffman plus FS Peckett as options. All are realistic chances which would be fantastic for the club but make list places teally tight. Could lead ...

Re: The Jimmy Situation
Some people have rated Bonner's games but I struggle to see the positives. He has no defensive game at all and plays a bruise free timid game IMO. We need an effective lockdown small defender so I think if Webster is ready he comes straight in to replace Bonner or Stocker. Bonner is a stats padder a...

Re: Players in question for 2025?
As a hypothetical lets say we trade in Ned Moyle and take 1 x player as an NGA rookie (Cole) and want to take 3 picks at the draft. That would mean delisting 5 players minimum - Matt Allison (was never going to make it) Max Heath (hasnt improved - not up to it) Tom Campbell ( good clubman and VFL pl...

Re: Trade - Draft Discussion
I was just looking at the Darcy Jones article on the AFL site, he seems to have filled out nicely in his couple of years with GWS. It will be an interesting comparison to his development against Lance Collard. Both were around the same build when drafted so hopefully Lance can make the size improvem...
