Re: Ken Hinkley is the boss
My take is that Hinkley had a lighthearted jibe at Ginivan .. something like 'looks like you're not flying to Sydney after all' .. it really didn't seem abusive .. And to Ginivan's credit, he seemed quite OK with Hinkley's jibe 'fair play Kenny, ya got me this time' .. But then Sicily .. who was alr...

I'll take that bet, he often starts on the bench.

Re: Who is the worst coach in the AFL
Bad coaches .. The Melbourne bloke, Goodwin. The Essendon Scott brother (Brad?)has no idea, I reckon Alister Clarkson has lost the plot, and Hardwick isn't far behind. Michael Voss was just terrible on the weekend, at selection and on game day, Carlton deserved to be humiliated with that appalling l...

Re: Jack McCrae
Invest in youth. I’d look at Bailey Smith if he were available, though. Pretty sure Bailey is the brand ambassador for Cotton-On, so he'll likely end up at Geelong on very modest coin, and with a farm about 20k from Kardinia Park. Gosh, it's no wonder Geelong is such a destination club (sarcasm int...

Re: Jack McCrae
Quite liked McCrae a few years ago, he was always a reliable contributor in my SuperCoach team. But unfortunately his stats dropped off, think he had a few niggle injuries, and he's struggled to rediscover his previous form and consistency, Fact is, he's been in-and-out of the Doggies team, and has ...

Re: How do we get the best out of Max King?
Quite frankly I wouldn't be surprised if Max's biggest problem was anxiety and feeling the immense pressure for the need to live up to the club's (and supporters) expectations. Now, I'm definitely no shrink, but perhaps give him a lower pressure role, like a high half-forward, a bit like Cooper Shar...

Re: Battle
Although not like-for-like I believe Houston is a better footballer than Battle, and I'd be content if we can land him (Houston) for Battle's compensation pick. Adding Houston to the list would give us the best attacking half-back line in the competition with Sinclair, Wagnaneen, Hill and Dan Housto...

Re: The Silly Season
Dan Houston is a sensational footballer, exactly the type Ross Lyon absolutely loves. He runs off the back line and is a superb decision maker, and possibly the best long penetrating kick in the AFL. He even kicks goals from 60 meters. Houston is a significantly better footballer than Josh Battle, a...

Re: Delistings
Allison seems a certainty to go. Crouch is finished. Ross, Bonner and Paton would be very nervous. Not sure Hall showed enough at Sandringham to stay on. Webster, Membrey and Jones have all shown enough to get another year. Hotton, Van Es, Keeler, McLennan and Heath should all stay on, but wouldn't...

Re: MRO is a biased Collingwood stooge
Personally I would have penalized Pickett more harshly than Dan Houston. Houston avoided the head, and has a clean record. Pickett deliberately hit Moore head high, he wasn't going for the ball and he's a known offender. Both victims were concussed, Moore because he was hit in the head and Rankin wh...

Re: Webster appalling
Personally I thought both penalties were too harsh. Webster was late and head-high, and it looked deliberate or at best a brain-fade. On precedence I would have thought 4 weeks appropriate. Houston was only split-second late, he avoided head-high contact and I doubt he had intent. Nevertheless Ranki...

Re: Is Owens our new Hamill?
Great post DelSantoClaus, Gotta love the way Owens is developing, but personally I'd rather not use him in the ruck. Some of those big, bad opposition rucks are boarderline thugs and will deliberately use their knees to maim an opponent. Owens is too valuable to risk injury, we need to find an alter...

As a kid my favorite player was Darrell Baldock, then a bit later a Tony Lockett fan.
Barry Breen and Andrew Thompson were also given the honor of wearing the revered number 4 jumper.
Can anybody recall the recent circumstances where the number 4 has been allocated?

Re: Anthony Caminiti
Can't question Caminiti's intensity.
Probably needs to keep developing a better tank, he looked completely spent a few times last night and was too buggered to get to the right position.
Hope he's back fitter and stronger next year.

Re: Anthony Caminiti
Still runs to the wrong spots and gets in the way of other forwards. I’d love to get a look at Keeler. Caminiti actually got to the right spot a few times last night, but just didn't hold onto the mark, perhaps it was the 'perceived pressure'. On a couple of other occasions the ball 'almost acciden...

Re: Who can we get
Dan Houston is a gun, and possibly returning to Melbourne.
... but I'd be reluctant to part with our 1st round draft pick .. even though Houston is a superstar, he's 27 or 28 and the wrong age bracket for our next dynasty.
Peatlng may be great value for a mid-range pick .. a bit like Jack Steele

Re: We dodged a bullet with Stengle
Dangerfield and media are suggesting he had his drink laced with is conceivable. The fact that he was out night clubbing midweek shows a lack in judgment. But he is a young single popular young man he was probably just chasing a piece of boontang. We have all done that in our time. Errr ... did you...

Re: Stats are a garbage argument
Stats have a place, but they don't always tell the full story. I am a SuperCoach player, and can advise there are good SuperCoach players and bad Supercoach players. There are many champions of the game who accumulate relatively modest statistics, and plenty of modest players who often accumulate lo...

Our Defenders were to small Hipwood over 200cm Danaher over 200cm Battle 193 cm and cammaniti 196cm or cordy 195cm Ari 194cm no wonder they out marked us. We need to go to the draft and get a big 200cm defender and trade for one as well not easy but its got to be done. Great move to bring in Campbe...
