Was big, quick and athletic.
When I fist saw him I thought he’d be a gun.
Very sad the big fella has passed away so young.

Re: Windhager at HB
Agree totally with OP. Windhager looks a disciplined gun run with mid who also wins his own ball while frustrating the opposition guns. At this point in time he lacks the flair of a Sinclair or NWM who set up off half back. Wondering if RTB will go with Steele, Crouch and Ross again this year. All 3...

Re: Liam Stocker: Where’s he at?
Elite runners in the AFL are sub 10 3K and a sub 6 2K We are not talking elite athletics here… we are talking AFL midfielders - who lug 80-90kg frames around and need to possess speed and power also - not just be aerobic beasts His lack of speed from stoppage and sameness to better players like Ste...

Re: Liam Stocker: Where’s he at?
Why do you think Bytel wasn’t a good runner His endurance was near elite when he was fit ran a sub 10 3k His knock was on ace from stoppage Agree he is a professional and had endurance. I very much doubt he was sub 10 in 3k, would like to see the proof, and for the record sub 10 is not elite. I rec...

Re: Liam Stocker: Where’s he at?
I like Stocker, honest, tough, decent skills. Down side is he’s a very average runner, and as Bytel found out if you can’t run to an acceptable standard you will be under pressure to retain your place at StKilda. He’s a depth player for me, I think he’s behind Webster, in front of the 2023 version o...

Backline transition work today with Wilkie and McLennan doing kick outs and setting up plays. McLennan really showing it up.

Perhaps I am biased, but I rate Howard at least the equivalent as a player as Ben “Kings Ransom” McKay.
He’s not Harris Andrew’s but he is not deserving of some of the posts aimed at him on this forum.

Am I correct in assuming this is 1-4 year players?
Regardless that is a serious feather in the cap of Darcy Wilson.
To beat Windhager home the young fella must have a tank.

Re: Jack Bytel training with Collingwood
Good chance Jack will join a select group. Former Saints players to win a premiership with another AFL club. Maybe a little premature to suggest that. Firstly he needs to be selected onto the list, then he needs to break into the team. IMO there is little possibility Bytel could play in the same te...

Re: Who replaces Gresham?
Preparation has never been an issue for Windhager.
Got to admire the lad for that.
If my name was Clark without an “e”, I’d shadow the younger man in the gym and on the training track.
Not suggesting Clark doesn’t do the work, just that Windhager is already the consummate professional.

Time will tell on the depth front but it certainly helps having 3 goods drafts in a row! No one seems to have Liam O’Connell in their Sandy team…strange! Hey Mike how is Ross travelling, I hope all is well with him. Also Members is a notable omission and would be a massive bonus if he can get it to...

Re: Jack Bytel training with Collingwood
He certainly won't hurt their VFL sides chances. That is a very good point. Hustwaite is fielding huge local offers and is seen as a future coach at what level I don’t know. It’s now highly unlikely he’ll stay at Collingwood VFL if he doesn’t get an AFL list opportunity. Bytel could be that VFL rep...

One man’s trash is another’s treasure.
The kid can play footy, just lacks the running power our club now craves and isn’t going to play in front of Steele, Crouch, Ross & Clark as none of those guys would be deemed particularly fleet of foot.
I hope he gets another crack at it.

Re: How Well Did We Do?
The way I would do it is that you have to match within 5 selections. If some one makes a bid at pick 8 you have to come up with a draft pick at 13 or less. No points accumulation would count. You would have to trade picks with another club to get it done. If you want quality you have to pay a fair ...

Re: How Well Did We Do?
With all the academy stuff, the first round went for 29 ( or so ) picks. If that is replicated next year, and if we finish mid table, our 3rd rounder is mid 50s. We thus have not given up much.. a bird in the hand… I seriously wish that they used a decimal point convention for father/son and academ...

Re: Riley Bonner picked up by Saints in pre-season draft
Bonner can run and can kick, there is beyond a doubt an undeniable pattern forming.
I’m guessing RTB wants either NWM up on a wing or Sinclair more on ball, therefore looking at some options for run and delivery out of the back half.
Time to get super fit Hunter Clark!

Me suspects they did not intend to take 5 picks but when they realised that Schoenmaker was still on the board they pounced. In German the "E" immediately after the "O" indicates there should be an umlaut on the O converting the sound to "ur" as in Danke Schoen, the Sc...

I feel we are getting ready for a big fish free agent next year, I wonder if it is B.King? Re: How Well Did We Do?
We’ve all been excited then disappointed over the years. The Clark/ Coffield draft, the Dunstan/ Acres draft to name a couple that looked promising but went pear shaped. What I like about this crop is we got a couple of genuine sliders who (from what I’d read) could have gone higher in Wilson & ...
