Re: Phillipou Close to Signing
Pou pick 10 in 2022 draft. IMHO Wilson has gone way past Pou despite Wilson pick 18 in 2023 draft and a handful of games. Garcia pick 50 in 2023 and a couple of games is as valuable as Pou and has overtaken Hastie pick 33 in 2023. But Pou will should continue to get games until the teams injury lis...

Re: Marshall
Xerri is a good player but any doubt i think Marshall gets a week rest and bring in Campbell. Assuming King comes in for Sharman, then perhaps make a call between Cama and Hayes playing as a forward and back up ruck Why would you drop Camaniti he has been good up forward there is no good reason not...

Re: Comparing our Outs to other teams
I would play King at CHF where he has room to manoeuvrer he is quick enough and would not always have 2 big monsters on him have Either Marshall or Hayes at FF with caminiti HFF with Membery and Owens with a small around them. I hear you saying its to slow to big but isn't that what we need we often...

Re: AFL exposure for young players
I agree we need a Saints VFL side play out of Moorabbin under our system. All our players would play and train at RESA park all the time not train there a few times then off to Sandy to train as well it can not be good for continuity of footy. Plus the sandy ground is terrible to play on and very sm...

Re: Drafting 25
What's our draft hand like in this years draft? I recall we did a bunch of pick trades and I think have Adelaide's second rounder. We gave up a second rounder for Henry but got one back from GWS for letting them move up the draft order. Now that Battle has some interest from other clubs and is a RF...

Re: Drafting 25
Do we start playing for a better draft position for 2025 now .. start playing all our youngsters getting game time into them accepting this season is gone …..which it is i believe. Get whoever needs operations done now do they are right for pre season. Guys like Heath , Keeler need game time to see...

Re: Phillipou Close to Signing
I remember when supporters said we should trade another player who was really struggling every week drop him trade him it really annoyed me at the time, but Ross persisted with him and he ended up being ok the player was pick #1 Brendan Goddard so it does take time. Give the kid a chance I know he w...

Re: Elwood Peckett
What ab out the Academy GC should not be able to match a pick inside the top 40 and all the other teams should try and get the GC rule changed or allow teams to pick there academy player after the top 20-30 which how it used to be and have it for everyone even GC otherwise what is the point in putti...

Re: Moving the magnets
Howard has played with some success as a key forward at PA. If we are happy with Corey perhaps Howard plays forward with King, that gives us two pretty quick mobile 200cm types to match up on up forward. Really like it when someone thinks outside the box could happen but I don't think so. We need t...

Re: Elwood Peckett
Rookie selection option at absolute best IMO. Frankie Pickett will be a possible father daughter selection. Unfortunately I don’t rate Boston Everett as a high end talent either. Still, things can turn in a short period of time at that age so fingers crossed. I’m waiting and hoping I’m still around...

Re: Phillipou Close to Signing
Battle is one also not resigned he is a RFA and when we offered him a 3-4 year deal a few years ago he only wonted 2 years so he could go into free agency. I would trade him and get a early-Mid second for him to ad to our trade picks for 25 which would allow us to go after a big fish. Now we have Va...

Re: Trade King
Play King a CHF he is mobile and it would allow him to receive the ball on the move harder for defence to match up on.
He would be in the play more often and he is good below knees.

Re: Saints once again under appreciated by the media
Is it just me, or did the media heap praise on "The battling, undermanned, Tigers", while conveniently ignoring our lengthy list of unavailable players? This is a hangover from last year, when our amazing performances were rarely, if ever, attributed to the ability of our underrated list....

Re: Max vs Ben
Last season Ben had about 7-8 weeks when he got consistently 0 to 1 possession and no goals he is very lazy compared to Max and played most of his junior career as a KD not much forward. He can't be drooped either Drew tried last season but was told by club Ben kind is not droppable. interesting if ...

Re: What I’d like to see moving forward…
I really think Battle gets away from a lot of criticisms he often doped the sitter mark at least 3 times Essendon scored on 1 I think and the other 2 he turned the ball over kicks straight to Essendon player and score. He is a restricted free agent and we should trade him while we can get a decent p...

Re: Sandy V Essendon
We DON’T need a ruckman! We have a AA quality ruckman We need a forward who can go into the ruck for 5-10mins per quarter No good team has 2 genuine ruckman e Fair point but when I say ruckman I should have said someone who can play forward and ruck what would you do if Row goes down who do we play...

Re: Sandy V Essendon
Campbell is slow but we didn't recruit or draft any ruckman during draft period and if they think he is to slow what happens if Row goes down do we go with Owens only its a dilemma that we created. The only short term solution is that we look at the mid season draft and see what is available around ...

We'll persist with the 2nd ruck role until he gets injured then they might wake up to themselves, but I doubt it!! Unfortunately I think you are right until he gets a serious injury against a 200+cm Ruckman he will stay rucking doesn't matter that it stunts his game and takes away a weapon we have ...

Re: Changes for next week
I am thinking a bit different to most people going by Sandy game and who has played well in the lead up games. Out King in Keeler he is playing as Defender right now and did really well for sandy with 16 disposals 11 kicks 5 handballs 6 marks 2 tackles he is really a forward/Ruck and played in that ...

Re: Arie Schoenmaker to debut?
I have one out of left field if king is out play Keeler I know he has been playing as a defender but he is a natural forward and played most of his junior footy as a forward plus he can ruck he came to us as a forward ruck. I have been watching him at sandy his last game he got 16 disposals,11 kicks...

Re: Did anyone watch the pies coach post match summary
Did anyone hear BT Pratt on about the Higgins Out of bounds goal decision? Yes he was very quiet about the dropped mark that was paid by the Collingwood player that resulted in there first goal. Plus there were 2 umps watching the kick and from a different angle we only saw it from the back if it w...

I know its only a short term solution but do we look at the mid season draft and see what ruckman are around the the state leagues.
There are some good players there we have had a great success with the mid season look at Sharman and heath is ok
