Re: Phillipou Close to Signing

I still say that IMHO it would be far better for both club and the Pou if he went home. I would prefer him to go so we could snag one young talented mid. We don't need Pou's 9 touches a game; we need a nice mid getting 20+ Post reminds me of those that want to get rid of King but think we will get ...

Re: Team v Port

Disgusting that Hayes and Schoenmaker aren't given a go. We are going to struggle to kick more than five goals tomorrow night. They have us covered on every single line. A bit OTT don't you think? If we win they will make a sequal to Miracle On Ice. Hayes and Scho would make little difference this ...

Our form

Disregarding the fact none of us were happy with last week let's look at the year so far and see if things are as dire as some on here are making things seem. Round 1- 8 point loss to Geelong- currently 1st on the ladder Round 2- win against Collingwood- currently 8th on the ladder Round 3- 4 point ...

Just watched it.

Measured. Ownership. Perspective.

Rated it.

Re: Phillipou Close to Signing

This time last year there were people getting excited about Hawthorn. 2 months ago many Saints supporters thought were destined to play finals this year, some even believed top 4, and that all of our kids were destined to be A grade or Elite talent. Still could happens but statistics might have a s...

Re: Phillipou Close to Signing

Sorry. Just want to check. Are we looking at West Coast as an example to aspire to? I understand that view 5 years ago but these days.... We could only dream of being a fraction of the richest club in the competition, and by a fair margin and as such an incredibly well resourced and managed organis...

Even this is assumptive. A lot of critical comments without any justification.

Re: Phillipou Close to Signing

How do you guys know the things you do? He is getting his ambition and abilities mixed up? Based on what? A comment he made 2 years ago when he was 17? Honestly, you can be annoyed at selection all you want but the way you're commenting on a young adults character without any evidence is disgusting.

Re: Phillipou Close to Signing

I don't think anyone writes a post on here expecting or even thinking that a player or their family could read it. It's the equivalent of having a chat over a beer at the pub. The reason that most of us live outside of Melbourne is that we don't get it in our day to day. Even as pub chat. It is poor.

If he goes back that is a big f*** you too Ross as he has played him every game and couldn’t have been better to him If he reads this forum (not directed at you) then it isn't going to encourage him to stay. OMG - even if he does read this - he more likely to think we are a bunch of numpties who op...

Re: Next week

Membrey kicked 3 goals, he's not going to be dropped. King will come in for either Caminiti or Sharman. Howard sill come in, but Cordy would be stiff to be dropped because he's actually been serviceable to good so far. Butler will need to be replaced so maybe Collard. I agree that Pou needs a spell...

Re: Team vs Dogs

Phillipou might make the most sense as sub. Short break means all of Jones (lower level), Garcia (Sub) and Butler (Subbed out) are likely less sore and better rested than the other bench options. Pou could come on and have an impact in a variety of roles and Jones can take the mid time he took last ...

Nothing like an over reaction. Glad some are not on match committee or head of football 74 games and Ave just under 2 goals per game in a team which has made finals once in previous 4 season. Give it some context: Tom Hawkins first 60 games averaged 1.3 goals per game Jack Riewoldt first 68 games a...

I don't think a single person in this thread has claimed for a second he is anything less than an A grade player.

Most have said they would like to see more intensity and that the right trade has merit.

The coaches of the 17 oppo teams endorse this thread wholeheartedly. After they stopped laughing. Imagine getting Nas, Windy, Owens in exchange. Then taking the cash and grabbing Tim English. Is it still laughable. English and Rowan swapping ruck/forward. Midfield depth sorted. All from trading one...

Re: Moving the magnets

Are we winning the cup this year? Are we even contending? If the answer is no - use the year as a development one and GET GAMES INTO THE KIDS - including playing those in unfamiliar roles to develop them. We've consistently had one of the youngest sides this year. Games are being put into the kids.

Re: Trade King

Again I don't think anyone- myself included- is advocating to trade him for whatever you can get, the point is you could get immense value back and these days 1st round picks are more reliable than days gone by. The last two weeks have been golden opportunities for King to grab a game by the scruff ...

Yep I’d play him high and Caminiti and Hayes/Marshall deep I agree Trade talk is just dumb Check out how we turned it over and brought the ball forward for 3qtrs Dumb? He is unquestionably talented. At worst he will become Joe Daniher who is a frustrating gun at best he could be the dominant forwar...
