Re: Big boy
Everyone, almost to a man on here lauded the trade and believed in Pelchen. After one year, where Ben had played some VFL and Dunstan had a good first year, it was seen as a great trade. McEvoy is now the third best ruckman in the AFL. And is the Captain that should have been. How we let go our cons...

How do we rate the dogs defence? They like to run off and create, but can they defend?
All you have to do is match them in the middle and stop Bont and they are beatable

Always been extremely talented and has the ability to make something out of nothing. He is also extremely courageous, always has been. He gets a lot of free kicks by getting on the move around stoppages and drawing contact. He was an outstanding junior, and was Vic Country MVP at the champs Showed a...

Re: Caretaker effect or blue skies ahead?
Bit of both. The players clearly played with more freedom, and kicked straight early (amazing what scoreboard pressure can do for confidence). There was some young talent on display, playing very well. Not getting carried away though, what I did learn was that the Bulldogs back 6 is putrid at defend...

You’ve got to consider,
All of those teams went into the match heavy favourites, and it didn’t surprise that we were outplayed at times during the game.
The Freo game and Geelong games were prett6 good efforts imo

Re: Time Will Tell
If a professional footballer spends 5 days training and preparing and can’t get up for a game, it says something about the player. It’s their job to be up, it’s a non negotiable. Why the inconsistency? You have to consider the impact of the opposition. If they match our intensity around the footy, g...

Re: Injuries and Excuses?
Geary, imo is a massive loss.
One of the best shut down small defenders in the AFL, leader, organiser and courageous.
He is dependable and has finished top 5 in the b&f 4 times (R.U in 2017) whilst not great offensively, he is a defensive gun.

Re: Top 5 draft picks
Anderson would be the one
But Kemp would also do.
Marshall, Billings, Gresham, Clarke, King, Anderson/Kemp need to become our stars
Bytel, Battle, Coffield, Paton need to become players
And then, we might just become a team

Re: Interesting selection
I think Newnes is playing too heavy, looks about 85, should be around 80 Lost his running power, which was his strength at his best, he was a hard running HB/Wingman who got 20-25 per game Now, a slowish HF/wingman who gets 15-20 per game His lack of creativity and skill by foot means 15 possessions...

We don’t have as good a list to begin with... although we did beat them remember.
But do we have playing atm, players the ilk of;
Stringer, Sheil, Tipungwuti, Hooker, Merrett, McGrath, Saad, McKenna, Heppell, Zaharakis?

Sam was one of those high iq footballers
Not blessed physically with pace or size
But knew how to find it, but also never took the wrong option.
If he’s a good communicator, he is an obvious coaching candidate, maybe not yet, but in the future.
Will coach Hawthorn after Clarko imo.

Re: Rob Harvey in the running for head coach role
Harves is definitely in the conversation Done a long and successful apprenticeship and wouldn’t have lasted in those roles if he was an ineffective communicator, which is a view only held by those who don’t know him personally. Truth is, most people have zero idea what he’s like behind closed doors,...

Re: Interesting selection
Sort of disagree about White having a good build, I don’t think he has built an AFL body, not sure he trains hard enough and is professional enough, which is holding him back. Also, don’t think he’s the sharpest tool in the shed, and the penny hasn’t dropped with him, as to why he’s on the outer.

I’d choose Acres and Sinclair
Both have played good games at AFL level
Just not consistent
Newnes is a GOP and White can’t get a game in a decimated team

But surely you must be better than me, given you can call me out and get personal with a ...
