Re: Battle - Carlisle conundrum?

And Wilkie is our medium sized defender.

We like Savage across HB, Clarke is playing across HB, Wilkie is back, Coffield is back and then there’s Brown.

McKenzie seems to have lost his spot

Paton is playing as the seventh

Re: Battle - Carlisle conundrum?

Don’t think Battle has the agility or ground level skills to play as a medium sized defender, he would get burned by faster, more agile opponents. He is not overly big, but only moves Ike a KPP. Whilst he has a big motor, he is pretty slow.

Re: The best ruckman in a generation

He still dominates at stoppage. He is not as good as Gawn and Grundy, however, he gives Shuey an armchair ride. He doesn’t read the footy in general play. He ha# also been an AA ruckman. If NN played on Marshall now Marshall would get 15-20 poss, 5-8 marks, 15-20 hit outs Nic Nat would get 10-12 pos...

Re: Battle - Carlisle conundrum?

Battle Forward is an option, but I think he has been much better at CHB than he would be as a forward. He might be an ok Forward, he has a big tank, can take a grab, good kick and is aggressive. I also think he will ultimately end up a forward. But at the moment, he is performing well at CHB (an eas...

Battle - Carlisle conundrum?

There are two types of Key defenders Last line defenders, who defend first, and play man on man... like D.Talia 2nd tall defenders who don’t play as deep. Zone off and intercept, use the ball well... Like J.McGovern We have 3 tall defenders Two are better offensive players, better suited to CHB, one...

Re: When Geary is fit...

He will walk straight back into the side.

He is one of the premier shut down defenders in the game, and none of the others can claim even close to that.

He will take Paton’s spot.

Re: 46 inside 50’s vs Geelong AND Footscray!

You do realise we were the fastest ball moving team from 2016-2017, playing on the most from marks. It was a style of play you cannot defend if you turn the ball over, you concede easy goals, so if you play a team that pressures well through the middle or beats you in clearance, you will be opened u...

They are

I consider Sav a GOP, Dunstan a GOP and Acres a tease.

None have set the world on fire, all have played VFL footy in the last 18 months. None have a top ten B&F result over the last few years.
McEvoy has finished top 5 at Hawthorn last two seasons

Re: The Black Cloud Finally Lifts...

Again, we had 17 marks i50

The dogs attack from d50, a lot of our marks were from mid turnovers, where the defenders had pushed forward and caught out of position and we got them over the back.

Also, name the dogs two key defenders? They are putrid

Re: Big boy

I wouldn’t

Ben McEvoy is a A Grade ruckman, three time premiership ruckman, absolute leader.

Good clubs don’t trade out good players about to enter their prime.

Re: Ratten and perspective ...

We won 4 of our first 6 because we had some easier games at the start, we will win a few on the way home, because we have some easier games coming up.

Question
Who have we lost to this season, that we should of beaten?
Have we won any games we should not have?

Well, we’re carrying on like we just beat a top 4 side.

They have the same amount of wins as us, and have a crack midfield. What does that say about them at either end? They are putrid outside of the centre and HBFs

Re: The best ruckman in a generation

Jesus! Talk about going over the top?! He has plenty of development to go, to get to the level of Gawn and Grundy. Or even to where Stef Martin or Goldstein when they were at their best. Then you’ve got Nic Nat. He is still getting well beaten by the bigger ruckmen at stoppage, and has to build his ...
