Re: Welcome to the Era of the Ratt
His press conference was amazing, I reckon he should get the job. What is this sensation???? Agreeing wholeheartedly with HM.... A new era in every way. I never watch press conferences by any coach but I know as an indirect facilitator you must be hanging on every word of them now BR is our new coa...

Re: Ratten and perspective ...
Coaching and playing without expectation are such liberating forces. It will be great times at the club and for most people from the coaches down it will feel like holidays have come early. I'm pretty certain the only plan getting attention right now is the end of season trip.

Re: Luke Darcy saw Rowan Marshall coming
ALL of this current list has been mostly selected by Alan and certainly ALL of it has been developed by Alan. He is higley regarded for his talent spotting and player development. He has done his job in that regard and the debate will continue on other aspects of his tenure but he has delivered in s...

I'm another who has to eat humble pie. I never thought he would reach AFL standard and boy, was I wrong. He is definitely our X factor now. We were up and firing until he went down injured against the Crows when that game turned right around. We haven't really shown anything since until first quart...

Re: Caretaker effect or blue skies ahead?
What exactly were those comments by players HM? I'd like to think players simply had the class not to dance on Richo's grave. Was good to see when the Dogs came at us, like they were always going to, we weathered it and did not stick in that mire of holding on to the ball, chipping sideways until w...

Re: Caretaker effect or blue skies ahead?
This is the classic new coach impact. It is not to do with Richo or Ratten it is simply a pressure release game. The doom and gloom of the last few months of a coach's tenure can be suffocating for the players. As the pressure is ratcheted up on the coach so to it is ratcheted up on the players. Th...

Re: The List is Good
I think we have started well by changing the coach. I think our list can improve markedly through trades and picks but my god it was refreshing to see the young blokes play with freedom. So we are on our way to correcting & connecting the 3 pillars, coaching, recruiting & development. It st...

The List is Good
Today's performance started last week. The players carried the same intensity from last week into today's game.
The list is good there is no doubt about it and I think we can rise quickly with a little luck on the injury front and a successful trade period.

Re: Interesting selection
Newnes has also had very good games at AFL level so no reason why he can't deliver on that again. Is very versatile too. Remember the games where he was sat in F50 and took contested marks and kicked bags of goals. I believe Newnes best is ahead of him. I don't. He is the turnover king. His decisio...

Our forward line will fire today. I'm led to believe the new coach has demanded they kick goals clearly something the old coach didn't demand.
A big score is possible.

Half a team out injured playing in the Townsville heat off a bye and we win. Great effort. Seriously Curly it is a remarkable story building. We are only 1 game out of the 8. I know this is a sensitive issue for some on SS but I actually think Alan coached brilliantly today considering just how blo...

Re: Time Will Tell
I believe we tried to fix the mids issue with the "war chest" approach but didn't have a plan B strategy or so it seemed. We did seem to in last years trade period with the mature age approach but didnt really target mids. I hope we still try our "war chest" approach at this year...

Re: Delistings for 2019
I don't think we'll delist paddy and roberton although I doubt either will ever play again. Have a bad feeling we'll go through the motions for another preseason with both of them. I'm not sure what our obligations are. We certainly have moral obligations but formally ... does anyone know? Thankful...

Re: Injuries and Excuses?
I feel like the perception of Paddy has really changed term of his injury lay off When went doubtful top22 because of poor marking and goal conversion (fairly flattering take on a player that was heavily maligned on here) to a huge loss that really hampered us this year. Huge loss is a bit strong. ...

Re: Injuries and Excuses?
Essendon much further along the development cycle and as sRs pointed out, don't have anywhere near the amount of their best 22 unavailable for selection, especially kpps. sRs left out one, Lonie, this one hurt us more than we know possibly, interestingly our intensity was back last week the week he ...

Sam wont take on a head coach postion for probably another 5 years you would think.
Why do people think champion players can walk straight into senior coaching roll.
