Another topical but easy one (if you bought a footy record). The 2.6 18 (Hawth) v 2.4 16 (StK) half time scoreline was pretty dismal. But at least both teams were on track to NOT make their lowest scores against each other (just). So what is the lowest fulltime StK score against Hawth and Hawth agai...

Yep. MLF you are right on the money - we have won our last 7 against Richmond and University. (Though not sure when we will play the students next). We are also getting some nice little runs going against Collingwood (4) and Hawthorn (4). On the negative side we have lost our last 3 against Freo and...

Wow Santbrat I'd forgotten about that question it was so long ago !! I'm sure lots of people would know the answer. But given no-one has replied ....... It was Russell Jeffrey who collided with Plugger and stuffed his knee. And since I've answered my own question correctly I'll ask another .... We t...

Not really trivia but I wanted to know the answer, and this is probably the best place. Why didn't St Kilda play in the 1916 or 1917 seasons? but most other teams did. Due to players on active service for world war one. In 1916 there were only 4 sides in the comp for this reason. Carlton, Collingwo...

No, and those guys were too little anyway.
Plugger would have crushed them.

Plenty of posts recently about how good it was in 91 to finally make the finals. But at one stage it looked like it was going to happen in the previous year - 1990. In Round 8 we played North at Moorabbin. We won the game, Plugger kicked 5 to take his season tally to 52 (6.5 per game), and we went t...

Ah yes, that would be Darryl Griffiths.

One of our best players in the 60s and wore #25.
Could have been even better but he played his whole career with a dodgy knee and frequent head injuries - the Kosi of his day !

Had a namesake in the 1988 draft - never played.

Not right, but interesting.
We drafted a "Rohan Smith" in 1990.
Though he actually played 3 games, and of course his famous namesake didn't play for us.

I think we did but I wouldn't classify Michael Jackson as a current day singer and actor. I wouldn't classify Mark Jackson like that either. And after a bit more research, it is over 10 years since Matthew Jackson played for the Saints. Keep looking. He's a terrific actor - plays the part of a whit...

I think 2007 is on the right track.
Alan Hird (James' grandfather) had joined the army as part of the pre-war build up and was being sent overseas on June 15th, so Percy Oakley (Ross' father) had to bring the game forward.

St Fid you are right on the mark. I think the last time anyone kicked a place-kick goal was Tony Ongarello, but DMcN kicked 9. Only thing I would add is that his 10 goal bag is still the club record against Geelong (though Billy Mohr, Plugger, Stewie and Spider all managed bags of 9). I'm not 100% s...

Longest kick
longest goal
longest place kick
MLF,
DMcN was renowned for his legendary long kicking, so whilst he might have bagged a monster on that day, those are NOT the three answers I was looking for.

Riccardo I think it was your turn.
But given this was buried 8 pages down I'll take over ...

At the Junction Oval R17 1922 our legend Dave McNamara set 2 (probably 3) records that still stand.

What was his achievements that day ?

Sources smources ! My data agrees with Snakeman66. Answer I am George Sparrow I played 25 games for StKilda. In 1913 I was appointed as our 5th ever coach. I won 13 out of 21 games and took us to a Grand Final. The next year I was dropped for the legendary Dave McNamara. In 1920 I was brought back a...

Saintbrat, got the 127 from the StKilda website - so it's probably wrong. Got the 0 Brisbane goals from the AFL stats site. Assuming I am right, heres an interesting one .... Who am I ? I am arguably StKilda's most successful coach ever. Or at least I have the highest winning percentage of any coach...

Who was the last Stkilda player to win the Brownlow Medal with less than 20 votes? Colin Watson 1925(9 votes) Worth pointing out that whereas now the umps give out 6 votes per game (3-2-1) in 1925 they only gave 1 vote per game. So Watson effectively had 9 best on grounds in just 17 games. So in to...
