Re: Hows the blocking working Tony74

I have nothing to do with the inner circle as 99.95% of people on this site don't.

How anyone can judge how good an assistant coach is for example from watching each Saints game on TV or listening to it on the radio is astounding. They must have more secret knowledge and power than a tarot reader.

Re: Abuse of players Melbourne game

The game day thread is always an emotional roller coaster. It is live action and full of emotion. It is game time and in the 'fog of war'. Stop being a cry baby. This is not North Korea or a battlefield. Its simply a game of football played and coached by flawed human beings. Cry baby? Are you seri...

Abuse of players Melbourne game

Seriously...only been on this site a few weeks but the abuse of players and coaches from some people is out of control. I can't be bothered copying and pasting examples but its easily found. Its just plain disgusting. We had a crap half of footy against Melbourne in a very important game so I get it...

Oh god.

Actually thought we were a good chance today. 50/50 game.

We aren't a finals side yet. Pretty clear now.

Re: Operation Get Kelly 2018

If Saints get Kelly we would have 5 of the top 20 picks from 2013 draft. If Freeman comes on and we gain Kelly they could all be in a 2018 lineup. Shrewd recruiting.

Picks
2. Kelly
3. Billings
10. Freeman
18. Dunstan
19. Acres

Re: Operation Get Kelly 2018

Give up our 2 first round picks and put him on a 5 year deal around 700-900k.

In reality. If we swap our 2 first round picks we only lose 1 of those top 10 picks as Kelly replaces one of those picks anyway. He is ready made now and worth it.

Re: Left field pickups in upcpming trade period

Jack Watts....just got dropped to 2's. Not sure if this is a joke - I know he doesn't have too many fans on this board - I think he's a very good player - might have something to work on between the ears, but I think he has talent - I was keen on us getting him a year or 2 ago when he was out of fa...

This would have to be more of a BS rumour that the Saints were willing to let Billings go in a trade for Goldstein. lol

Left field pickups in upcpming trade period

Would be very very happy with J. Kelly to come to Saints. That should be our no 1 priority. But its interesting to discuss who else we could gain that hasn't been discussed....someone left field. I would trade for Breust from the Hawks. He is still only 26 and a proven goal kicker. We need someone l...

Re: Shane Savage

Savage's disposal efficiency is 84% this year (no1 for the Saints and 14th in AFL) which is top shelf stuff. We would be crazy to get rid of him.

He is a good B grade player that provides depth to the list. Then add in his expierence and age to his penetrating kicks and speed.

Re: Josh Kelly house hunting in Melb?

J. Kelly is currently around 4th and 5th in Brownlow betting odds. At worst he is still a top 10 player in the entire league.

Yep. He is worth 2 first round picks especially when aged 22 and in his 4th year.

All class mate. Good to hear stories like that. No doubt those Eagles supporters will tell that story to others also. Its a positive chain effect. Whilst the Saints should make it hard and initimdating for an opposition side to visit Etihad/Melbourne...lets still stay classy as a club in general and...

If you have a 19/20 year old in only his 3rd game playing so well and composed in a high pressure finals defining game like that...it speaks volumes of his talent.

He has pace, good skills, has a crack and can mark. Perfect HB.

So true. Acres still fumbles too much and can be frustrating making the odd stupid decision. But he's still so very enjoyable to watch. He's just one of those players and provides something different.

Yep. Sinclair has turned the corner this year.

When you add in another couple of even younger kids in Gresh and Steele who were good today also....hell, they will get better and more consistent also as they get more games into them.

2013 draft picks were good today

Billings, Arces, Dunstan from the 2013 draft. They have copped alot of crap but lets face reality. These KIDS are still only in their 4TH year of AFL football and they were all very good today. Each of them will be around for many years and develop into even better players when they reach the mid 20...

Will Bruce, Membrey, McCartin now step up even further

Well...the Saints definitely don't rely on Riewoldt anymore and to be honest we really haven't for a while anyway. Can Riewoldt's retirement ignite the big fellas in the forward line to new heights and force them to step up even further? Bruce, Membrey and McCartin are now it for the next 10 years! ...

Riewoldt is number 1 of all time. His playing career is better than any other Saint in my opinion when you look at the stats and what he has done but what is very important to me was his true loyalty, great captaincy and leadership, strong connections with members and fans, guiding team mates and be...

Re: Alan Richardson's contract in 2018

Keep Richo for 2018 and see how we go. Any talk of him getting sacked is absolute rubbish and stupidity at the moment. He took over a team that was at the bottom and the club purposely recruited a number of young players to get us a good list with depth in it which is what we have. He took us to 12 ...

Best player the Saints have ever had. A champ on and off the field. Nick was truly someone that gave over 100% in every day of his career which not many footballers could achieve.

But life goes on, just like when our other champs retired and someone will take his place.

Yep. Sorry, forgot about him. Just realised.

We do need another high half forward that kicks goals though like Devon Smith or Tom Lynch.
