Re: Match Thread Saints v Demons Round 7 2018
How do Billings, Paddy and Gresham look Webster and Steven in the eyes? They owe the team a lot from now.

Re: Age article on our ineptitude this year
We are low hanging fruit for cabbages, lyon lychees, cary cauiflowers, rhubarb roos and malthouse mandarins because they either have grudges and/or lack positive originality. Nice to get paid well to regurgitate the superficial. No one, not even we flora of the forum have been able to identify the c...

What if Parkey S is right....?
The form line might not be as bad as first glance (through tears of course) suggests: North are giving Sydney a run, Adelaide continue to win as do Hawthorn, Geelong seem capable. If Roberton's heart hadn't played up, Bruce, Membrey and Webster didn't have hip/back issues, Billy didn't get neutered ...

Destination Club? Is that a reality show set in a Club Med. Players are very much influenced by money but it can be hard to get them to change tribes without other factors e.g. I want to live in Victoria; I look great in coloured panels.... If the price is right, the new tribe can offer a promising/...

ok, me too. I suppose the athleticism and skills on display can sometimes be unappreciated when losing. Look forward to how the mids counter Gawn and Richos battle of wits with Goodwin.

Re: Had a gutful. Newnes survives, Sinclair dropped
White would do better than Newnes whatever position Newnes plays, bigger & strong mark, fast, good at the tackle nice kick; but maybe has been pigeon holed half back. I hope we win, of course. If not Newnes, Gresham and Gilbert have to make way for a fresh crop unless any or all of them put in r...

Re: Surely Marshall has to stay in the best 22 from now on
To the question, yes. Marshall is the future and won't get going if he is shuffled from As to rest to Bs. A star turn like Acres in ruck is so silly. There are plenty of less skilled work horses to choose e.g. Membrey. Even the management of Blake was half bottomed, one game too late apparently and ...

Re: Rd 7 squad is in.
If the interchange 7 is real the whole thing is underwhelming. AR xtreme bland. * Three to be omitted: Sinclair probably deserved, White as an undeserved scapegoat? and Clark on the tease to disillusion pathway? Newnes, Membrey, Gresham and Gilbert now probably don't need fire insurance. But I hope ...

Re: Can anyone remember a more bleak outlook than now ?
Here's a conundrum: CEO is reported in AGE yesterday as saying performances are unacceptable but there is no second guessing Richo's extension as he will be a better coach for it. Does that imply unacceptable performances will be accepted until end 2020 as a professional development exercise or poss...

Re: Saints v Demons - Round 7
Two big forwards to take some of the defence focus off Paddy. Double team Hogan. Geary to run through Oliver early. Try not to fumble. Confidence will come because it can only go up - nothing to lose anymore - have fun, take out the driver no laying up; chaos ball is better than a straight turnover....

Re: Saints v Demons - Round 7
Gawn and Hogan. The selectors and coaches have to come up with a plan. Ok to let Gawn have shots straight in front 30 out but Hogan would probably nail his.

The other interesting stat* was elevation of < = to Sea level was achieved; the high float hospital style was matched by the straight to your toe style. Hard to anticipate, gets the opposition confused.

Re: Coach cans his side
Absolutely I totally agree, Blight is a pompous knob. However I don't agree with G.Lyon that Carlton has far more talent. We have the sufficient talent to finish close to the eight with a reasonable draw and a common hymn book. Team selection is, as wiser heads here have noted, totally naïve if not ...

Re: A rift among the coaching staff?
Richo said he was confused and couldn't remember and that Kingo couldn't remember either. That possibly explains a few things. Of course he was mis-speaking but he can't admit what happened. He did remember Tim missing "that" goal but didn't scold him, he did however say well done when his...

Re: Can anyone remember a more bleak outlook than now ?
In the 80s I don't think there was a salary cap, draft and other equalisation measures. Most of the leading clubs of the time cheated any payment and recruitment rules in place, so its difficult to compare with that period, yes? I seem to remember that even when getting regularly beaten we had playe...

Re: Can anyone remember a more bleak outlook than now ?
During the "school girl" debacle and Ross Lyon's contract fiasco. We do a good line in bleak. The current bleakness for me isn't so much we are losing, I'm immune to that, but that the club through spokesman Richardson seems in Black Knight style denial "...come back its only a flesh ...

Which teams now in the eight are going to move down for us, which of the fifteen above us actually - North maybe. Most will win another two or three games so we are out for the count - September is free. Can only blood new players, stress composure and disposal skills now, drop anyone who makes thre...
