Re: This can be the difference a new coach makes
Taking the soccer analogy, Zinedine Zidane just took Real Madrid to a third straight UEFA Cup final then resigned to enable a new coach to add freshness - what a guy. Of course Real Madrid has a lot of top flight talent, nevertheless at the other end of the coaching scale Richo must be painfully awa...

Re: When did we become so boring?
Begs the question why Gresham and Billings are so often played forward when they can't kick straight for goal. There is an unhealthy dogmatic style to the coaching even with clear evidence it is not often appropriate, and that is a bore. It won't be boring to see how the coaching staff try to combat...

Re: Breaking Upwards
None of the above, although #2 might be in the ballpark. Theory developed from the comfort of having no idea what is happening between Coach, Players, CEO, Chair and Director of Football (an Orwellian title at St Kilda in 2018 if ever there was one): Richo had reservations about choosing Paddy but w...

Re: McCartin Concern
Huge challenge for the medical staff. His parents must be very concerned. Hope for all concerned his particular situation is getting better understood. Maybe six games on two off is the sort of pattern he needs. Certainly another big forward is essential to take the heat off him and for his RDOs. Pe...

Re: After the West Coast game.....
Relegation threat is an interesting one. The bottom EPL clubs often use "park the bus" tactics wise against the top 5 to try to limit the damage. GT tried that once against Sydney and we pinched a draw catching them on the break a few times. I don't think AR has a heavy vehicle licence tho...

2018/19 Budget Assumptions
Less than 41,000 members by June 2019 Round 1 team 2019 will have at least 10 changes from team that ran out for the start of 2018 95% or greater change in coaching staff Draft pick in first 3 or lower in 2018 will actually be good based on sheer luck/weight of early picks, if not judgement New sele...

Re: Our president keeping his head down
Keeping powder dry for a big explosion soon to come. I imagine he is sounding out big backers, sponsors, the AFL and Nick about the consequences of thanking AR for his services and applauding him for deciding to spend more time with his family.

Re: Getting that elusive free agent
The big hook is a credible passionate coach and a Board that backs him. Once the Richo boil is lanced a lot of things will start to heal as the Saints long time brand isn't all that bad. I watched him (AR) on 360 Monday night and I think he has a problem in relating to reality. What's that called? W...

Re: Sam Fisher Backs Richo In
Support from one past great given the state of play is almost damning with faint praise. Surely the media unit could have rolled out a few more. Sammy is an all time great but his quotes seem so talking point like rather than insightful or passionate, they echo the line the club is taking now - play...

Re: Will the media turn on Richo/whole footy department?
Richo has been very respectful and cooperative with the media. In return there will be no crucifixion, but the tone has become increasingly pitying. Which is possibly worse. Robbo may turn up with a sufficient BAC some Monday to really grill him but Richo always pleads the fifth and deflects - injur...

Re: What does Ben Dixon actually do?
Key is composure. Hickey, Armo and Long looked competent. Dunstan is composed but mechanically awkward from a set shot. Next draft do the composure and can tackle and take a bump tests. Also ask the prospect to eat raw meat (tartare of course).

Steady, that's giving mediocrity a bad name. I long for mediocrity on the way to kicking goal with one of the first seven scoring shots. But don't talk about that, talking doesn't fix it.

Not the coach? Innocent until proven guilty. What evidence might be led that he isn't a good coach: 2.5 wins in how many outings? No finals, no wins in crucial games? No clear fit for purpose game day tactics. We are not just losing its floggings. Can we just stop the floggings. But yes the order of...

Re: Josh Battle
Saints have worst points for in the comp but several teams have worse points against. I appreciate stability but surely someone in the coaching staff and selection group can see the offense set up is rubbish and wishing a magic wand is not going to cut it. Battle might be young but we can't do worse...

Re: It’s starting to get very unpleasant around here
Agree saintspremiers. The silence from the club is deafening and extremely frustrating to the point of anger and of course emotional comments. It is if the Club doesn't put on field performance/wins as a high priority. Telling us the performance is unacceptable with a pat on the head, parroting that...

Yes he did squib. Is the Essendon offer still on the table. Shame we couldn't swap him for Stewart Calamari, but that dish was a take away. Billings must be embarrassed about today, poor guy - wasn't made for contact sports all floppy fins and ink squirts.

Don't hold your breath. Because who is going to drive action. Finnis, Leathlean and Richo are in a mutual death embrace. None will unilaterally break ranks. Richo is of course on the way out because his record is terrible only question is how long can he tread water, however until the Board tap the ...

Richo is out of his depth. He knows it. If he really is a fine decent upstanding chap he will offer his resignation and announce it on the next members message. If he doesn't can we see Leathlean's review please.

So you just arrive from Mars (its North of Werribee) and are told you win by scoring goals but Saints play Gresham who has proven he can't kick goals forward. Space man says whoever arranged that was a bit foolish. And: what does number 32 do, and is #16 playing for the other side in different colou...

And Newnes. Could White get a bigger insult than being dropped from this team. They might think about playing Ross in another position as well. Just cant afford three or four duds. Feel sorry for Clark and Coffield. Battle would have to bring more than Paddy at the moment.
