Re: Match Thread Saints v Port Round 7 2024
The only people that think he is the messiah Hopeful supporters and dumbarse media I keep telling you The coach is not the answer!!!! It’s good to have a decent one But give me good players over a good coach anyday People just want to believe it is to give them hope when a coach is sacked! What do ...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Port Round 7 2024
Disgraceful, insipid, error-filled effort from a poorly coached team devoid of leadership. Saints were a rabble of lazy, ponderous, individuals. They allowed a depleted Port side to over-run them. Big clean out is needed at the end of the year…starting with Howard. Settle down wasn’t that bad. Few ...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Port Round 7 2024
They’ve won 13 of the last 14 against us with just 2 of those games played at marvel over that time. Surely we get 5-6 years of home games in a row against them now?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Port Round 7 2024
Geez some of you are a bit harsh on Byrnes ….a lot of the time tonight he has gotten a s*** handball from one of ours when he’s got nowhere to go and it’s a quick kick to move it on or give away a free . The whole side are s*** kickers poor handballers and then on top of that poor thinkers He’s jus...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Port Round 7 2024
I have zero faith any of our forwards can kick a set shot more than 30meters out. I don’t recall ever seeing a forward unit this universally bad at set shot kicking.

Re: Paddy Dow to play for Sandy
Do posters on this site believe Dow is best 22? I don't rate Dow highly, however assume he gets a run when fit due to the Crouch injury and our lack of midfield quality. If we can recruit/ draft some midfield talent I think he becomes depth. Definitely best 22 at present. Probably only Steele, crou...

Re: AFL exposure for young players
I'd look at what Geelong do! They are the best team for developing players. Have been for decades. Sydney are a close second. Both have their own reserves team in the VFL that isn't conflicted about being its own team...It serves at the pleasure of the AFL team. We do not have that kind of relation...

Re: The Eagles
Does anyone seriously feel comfortable playing them over there. We were lucky to beat them last year and we are playing much worse and they are playing much better. If we lose to them at any point over the next 2 years then my faith in Lyon (who I personally support wholeheartedly) and also list wi...

Re: The Eagles
They are still comfortably the worse list and team in the league. Many, many years off being competitive. Bookmarked We play them at Optus Stadium in Round 12 Barrass, McGovern, Kelly/Yeo, Darling and Allen...not a bad spine  That is your opinion. I think it’s good enough also. But the spi...

Re: The Eagles
Also further to add the eagles (along with north) are the poster child for why building relentlessly through the draft is a losing strategy. No team has had more high end pick busts than them over the past 5 years. No team has won a flag off the back of gutting their list and bottoming out for 5 yea...

Re: The Eagles
Some delusion on this thread. They have won 2 games and suddenly they’re not a complete rabble? They are still comfortably the worse list and team in the league. Many, many years off being competitive.
Also no guarantee Reid stays past 2027.

Re: Match thread Saints v Dogs
Do you reckon the Dogs would swap Darcy or JU-H for King and Pou? Darcy looks way better than King after 11 games and has footy smarts which King sadly lacks. Darcy has to be one of the tallest players I have ever seen on an AFL field I’ll say that much. He was a good head taller than battle and is...

Re: Tribunal a new level of randomness
Honestly if you want someone to blame, blame the class action cowards asking for a free handout from the AFL. Almost all of these heavily debated player incidents would not be up for discussion 10 years ago if it wasn’t for the AFL being sued left right and centre. The tribunal and Christian are un...

Re: Match thread Saints v Dogs
Another thing we have known is that we needed a replacement for Paddy Ryder and we knew that for a couple of years and we did nothing. Speaking of midfielder, gee do you think not drafting Petracca with our number 1 pick hasn't bit us badly. I dispute the point re Ryder, from a clearance perspectiv...

Arie tearing up VFL First choice full back available for selection Butler 1 possession, 1 tackle Forward/Ruck relief back from injury and has played 2 VFL games Plenty of options. Re: In Garcia, Windhager Out Hastie Jones
Jones had one of the worst body language first quarters I've seen against the Tigers. Looked completely disinterested, didn't want to tackle, didn't want to go get the ball. If this is a pull your head in or get out type omitted I'm all for it. Too long we've carried passengers on the team, and dro...
