Re: Logan Austin

"From our point of view we've got great confidence in [Austin] from last year. He had a little bit of a setback in the last game and it just took him a little while to get going," Hinkley said. "He's a really accountable defender. He's a big defender too, he's 198cm. He's a big man an...

Re: Jaxons come on down (2017/18 thread)

It's negative people like you Saynta that spoil forums like these for the rest of us! If this is how you treat your fellow Saint then I bet you're the type of 'supporter' who would prefer to bag players than cheer them on. I happen to enjoy when Jaxons or anyone else for that matter come up with inf...

So I am not sure that he is key position material at AFL level and so do we need another so so tall flanker?

Matthew Scarlett was 192cm and he wasn't too shabby as a tall flanker!

Re: Picks 7 & 8 since 2009

Joel Selwood and Lenny Hayes were pick 7's from memory. You're right about Selwood but Lenny was pick 11. I didn't want to go too far back in the draft years as the whole landscape with drafting has shifted so much with a lot more detail and information on young talent available i.e draft combine, ...

Picks 7 & 8 since 2009

I was a bit bored and decided to see which players from previous drafts went at pick 7 & 8. What my study indicated to me is that out of the 16 players featured, I would only consider 4 to be guns (Heppell, Wines, Haynes, and McDonald). It’s obviously premature to judge the class of ‘15/’16 but ...

Re: Talia a Sainter?

We don't have to draft him, we can sign him up in the delisted free agency period. All he needs to do is choose us. I'd be pretty happy with him, and if he comes on board then there's every chance that he overtakes Browny as our number 1 fullback.

Re: Saints fans in MCC members.

I did the same in 2008 for a mate who was a Hawks fan. Also face value. But I regret it now. He didn't get checked (we had a few things in place to help him if he did). I spent the whole prematch time hoping it was clear. Imagine getting caught out before 2009/10? What a waste. Silly to risk it unle...

Re: Saints fans in MCC members.

I only hand over the card to good mates or friends of friends that are vouched for! Face value for the ticket seems reasonable (especially when scumbags are selling them for 1000s!). Made a 30 year dogs member very happy last year which was more rewarding for me than watching someone elses team go a...

Re: Saints fans in MCC members.

Not meaning to sound smart but I think it's selfish for neutral supporters to attend grand finals when their own team is not playing as it takes away a seat from a true supporter. I'm an MCC member and if the Saints aren't in it then I'll offload the ticket to someone who is desperate for cost price...

Shane Savage

I've got a feeling that the Macho Man might be getting ready for another change of scenery. Koby Stevens thought that Savage had re-signed when asked at the final banner-making night but nothing has come out from the club. Personally, I rate Savage and I think that we're a better team with him in it...

Re: The Fox Report - Round 21

I would love to see us keep the two picks and throw EVERYTHING at Dusty. Make him an offer he can't refuse and that Richmond could not match. I can't see Dusty sticking around in the footy world once he's retired (i.e. media) therefore I think he would enjoy an extra 2-3 million (2168000 - 3252000 ...

The ONLY good thing Watters did for the Saints was put games early into the likes of Webster, Newnes, and Ross. Farren Ray described him as a 'shocking bloke'

He's been bad in all but one game.[/quote] disagree - bad in 2-3, very good in one, good in a couple, okay in the other. his game is a lot more than getting possessions. his biggest critics are those that just look at that. his efficiency is fine compared to the other mids, he ties up a lot of the b...

Re: Get the pitchforks ready! OUT Steele, IN Dunstan

Firstly, I think this is a good move as a lack of preseason looked to have caught up abit with Steele last Friday therefore a weekend off to freshen him up will only be a good thing for him IMO. Secondly, if you want to do stats Let's look at Dunstan Vs Steele in the stats department for this year. ...

I have always been 50/50 with paddy. I guess seeing the 3 types of #1 picks weve had and what weve come to expect has clouded my judgement. Roo is a once in a generation footballer and is top 2 #1 picks depending on who you talk to. BJ took a while to get going i remember there was a season he didn...
