Re: Team v Roos
Congratulations to Jack Hayes on fighting back from two years of injuries to earn senior selection. Not to put a dampener on it but he did play late last year against Brisbane at the Gabba. Sorry about that - I missed that game , visiting my daughter overseas. In any event, I am glad he has another...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Port Round 7 2024
Hastie did a few nice things, but was twice beaten one-on-one by Burgoyne. Worth a start next week for sure, but I am not totally enthused yet. Anyway, good luck to him.

Votes v Power
5. Jack Sinclair. 3. Rowan Marshall. When he went down, the world was coming to an end, but he did a Gary Lazarus and fought on manfully all night. 2. Cal Wilkie . So reliable. 2. Darcy Wilson. Really looking the goods. 2. Marcus Windhager . Strong in and under. 1. Brad Hill. Superb early. Faded a b...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Port Round 7 2024
What's the point of all of this? We had a great ANZAC Day ceremony before the Pies vs the Bombers yesterday. ANZAC day is over. If AFL were played over Xmas-New Year, would Santa show up before the game on Boxing Day? Is that a rhetorical question, or do you genuinely want to be educated as to the ...

Demoralising. Hard to find votes, but here we go . 5. Brad Hill. Clearly our best early , when the pressure was hottest. 3. Marcus Windhager . Got it a bit. 3. Hugo Garcia. I like him a lot. 2. Seb Ross. Good endeavour. 1. Tim Membrey . Junk time goals , but at least he kicked them. 1. Cal Wilkie. I...

Still early days, but ( with the greatest respect to Dan McKenzie ) I am very glad the club used that last pick on Arie.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 5 2024
I don't really know where to post it but Cordy was huge today. Not in any specific part of the game, but compared to the final last year he held his own, won his contests, and gave a bit where needed. Before the season I had Howard firmly ahead of him, but I think it's line ball right now. I agree....

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 5 2024
Least Caminiti took his full 30 secs 👍🤣 Even though we were 7 points down with 40 seconds to go I totally disagree with your criticism. He had to kick the goal. He took the time he needed. He kicked the goal- AND there were still 41 seconds on the clock at the next bounce . As we saw, still plenty ...

Just trying to get the heart rate down a bit so I can type. 5. Brad Hill. Gut running all day. 4. Rowan Marshall. Such a mobile follower . 3. Jack Steele. Never gives up. I think those three stood out. 2. Zane Cordy. Dougal will have to bide his time. 1. Marcus Windhager. Tagged well and found quite...

Re: Darcy Wilson
Whenever a junior in any sport steps up to the senior level, unless they are extraordinarily self-assured there is likely an element of self-doubt as to whether they truly belong. I hope that, with his two excellent last-quarter efforts ( that will certainly have drawn praise from coaches and collea...

I had Cordy in my top 5 until Wilkie’s superb last quarter just squeezed him out. Cordy was good all day.

Wonderful quarter by Hill; Jones and Owens lifted too. Battle and Steele remain the standout players today . NWM quality.

Re: Crab watch
We all talk petracca v mccartin But the biggest travesty was Judd v ball That cost us a premiership I agree with Meher Baba’s eloquent views on this . Also, It really is fair only to look at the decision at the time and, back in 2001 , the selection of Ball over Judd was totally reasonable. Judd ha...
