Re: Carlisle Was A Big Big Mistake

No doubt a proven player is the better option than the draft. The only thing safer about the draft is the difference in cash and it seems cash isn't a problem with this trade this year. As for parish being better well who cares. We couldn't get him unless we somehow got pick 4. Yes Plugger so long ...

Re: Carlisle Was A Big Big Mistake

Hindsight can be a great teacher if you want to learn from it. You know how it goes. If we had known this, would we have done that? I can’t think of a more appropriate example than to ask that question about the Jake Carlisle trade. For me it’s a no brainer. We made a big, big mistake recruiting Ca...

Re: Bulldogs 2016!

Big picture people - I just thought there defensive structures and movement out of defence was very good. I also thought which many do, that Beveridge would have been a great acquisition for us. Plugger66 you never change do you? I don't change in that I think these are practice matches and you are...

Re: Bulldogs 2016!

Did you watch the Bulldogs game last night - gees they are a well drilled side now - Hawthorn esq. Oh to think how Beveridge would have enhanced the Saints coaching team. Hindsight is just that, but after watching some of the other 2015 draftees running around in the NAB, Gresham had better make a ...

Re: Paddy maybe just hamstring tightness

Low grade. 2 weeks. Wont play v Lions. Should be fine for Nab 3. http://www.saints.com.au/news/2016-02-23/injury-update-mccartin-hamstring Doubt he'll play NAB. Maybe round 1 but could even give him another couple of weeks. No point taking risks. When you see "expect x weeks" that's alway...

Re: Jack Newnes 23 tomorrow

And with the Ross Lyon selection policy both Newnes and Ross spent a hell of a lot of time at Sandy. While that was pretty #### frustrating for them and a lot of us, perhaps in the long run a solid apprenticeship has helped them. Well, for whatever reason --- i :D t is good news now Harsh on RL for...

Re: anxious wait

In a worst case scenario, if Josh wasto leave at the end of the year, what would we get for him? Not a FA so they'd have to trade. Depends how he plays this year but potentially a 1st round pick. I cant believe he would leave. We helped turn his career around and we have plenty of $ in our cap and ...

The Trial game was what is was. To go back to my earlier "contribution", from the "A" Side, we were missing Fisher, Roberton, Carlisle, Riewoldt, Armitage, Montagna, Mc Cartin, Freeman, Gilbert, Steven and Longer (some totally, some from very early in the game and others from in...

Re: Can We Win More Than Six Games in 2016?

Wins matter a little of course. If we didn't win a game this year that would be a very bad thing but what matters more is the B&F count. If Rooy, Fisher, Joey and Dempster are still in the top 8 positions that means we are relying on them much to much and it also means when they retire we wont i...

Re: NAB Match Thread v Roos

The trouble we will have this season, as we had last season, will be our midfield can't hurt the opposition by hand or foot, nor break lines and get involved in goal scoring enough. Ross had a good go yesterday, but he is not a damaging mid. I thought our setups at the centre bounces was pretty poo...
