Re: What's wrong with Dunstan
What a stupid thread. There is nothing wrong with Dunstan. He is just a 20 year old kid developing. He will have the odd bad game. If he kicked straight at goal today, his stats would look a lot better. The people that post this sort of junk obviously didn't see Ablett's first 3 seasons. Get a frig...

Would love to know exactly how much they're making out of the machines. If we accept that we are not going to grow that revenue stream (or maybe slightly at the margin) then the PR win alone with the local community and members from getting rid of them could end being worth a multiple in value to t...

Re: David Armitage
Simpkin is a classic depth role player who you need on a list so that when someone like Dempster gets injured, he can come in a play the role to an adequate level. In fact, he might be the replacement for Dempster in the long term. In the last few years our backline has lost a lot of experience in ...

A few years ago I would've been pissed off that Paddy wasn't an instant hit due to our crap recruiting of dud after dud. Different now - look at Dunstan, Sinclair and Lonie. All hits from day one. So now I have patience and confidence that for some of the big boyz like Paddy and HJ it may take a fe...

Re: Moorabbin - Trouble Ahead
There is massive potential for the club to make BIG $$$$$$$$$ out of Food & Booze out of the Social Club, not just Pokies. It is in the perfect location where residential meets commercial/industrial and that potential can turn into $$$$$$$ for the club if it is done correctly !! I agree. There ...

Re: Player swoop?
Problem is Dangerfield is strong to leave & they will throw a lot to Sloane to keep him. I cant see both being allowed to go & I have heard Sloane has Pubs in Adelaide. I would love to see him at the Saints, he supported us as a boy, lets see but the intent is there to nail a top liner in t...

Re: Player swoop?
Mat Finnes did nothing to dispel the Sloan rumor on SEN today, he pretty much suggested he would fit in at the saints he he was willing to come. David Schwartz also said the saints were heavily into Sloan, he may have read the same inside football article but I imagine he would be more 'in the know...

Goddard and Lee look as though they might be likely key defenders.SMS wrote:Sloane at 700k for 5 years without using pick would be great.
Shiel or trelor might be worth the pick too.
We need Key defenders over next 2 years.
We desperately need quality midfield grunt & depth.

Need someone quick for Betts. Wright could do the job and hurt them going the other way. Don't think Betts defensively is that good, averages 1 to 2 tackles a game.
Weller to Dangerfield then a head-to-head with Thompson.

Re: Player swoop?
Sloane, Shiel and Treloar are all elite mids but the reason for us to throw everything we have at Sloane is because he is not contracted for 2016. To get Shiel or Treloar we'd be looking at giving up our first pick and a decent player. Yes, those two guys are exactly what we need but that's a huge ...

Re: Rookies.... And elevations.... and the demote
It is a "moment in time" thing in that it looks congested for spots on the list now but likelihood is that will change over the season.
I don't particularly like the idea of demoting Sinclair either.

Re: Player swoop?
Rory Sloane might be uncontracted but from what I can see he is not a free agent so my understanding is he will cost draft pick/s and or quality player for a trade.
Maybe I have this wrong but I don't think so.

Re: Player swoop?
This topic makes me nervous. It is obvious everyone at the club is itching to do a deal which is never a great start. Wayne Hughes has been recruited as a "pro-scout" and there is a tendency to justify his existence by doing a deal which creates self interest and automatically produces a b...
