Re: How is the AFL Pie is split + Salary cap news
I'm sure the ratings for games like GWS v Bris & GCS v Port Adelaide were through the roof. Doesn't matter about the ratings on those games. The GWS WB final was one the biggest ratings prelims ever. Maybe the highest. And the TV stations paid the money so I would think they know what they are ...

Gold Coast & GWS have cost over $200,000,000 in the past 5 years, and still no-one cares about them.
The TV stations do and they have probably added money to other clubs.

Hawthorn were a rabble when... they had two brief periods near the bottom in The merger was a result of people in power putting forward a strategy... it failed Let's look at this club that nearly folded and seems to go alright now Premiers 61, 71, 76, 78, 83, 86, 88, 89, 91, 08, 13, 14, 15 Runners ...

I don't think we had that option. I love the ground. Reckon many do as well.

A giant? Wouldnt think they have any chance at all because of the SC. Hawks would be a chnace though. I will go with the Tigers.

Re: Docklands playing surface
Clubs been advised they're currently replacing 80% of the playing surface. How can this be stable in 6 days as the grass just sits on top and takes time to root and weld together. Seems like a risk of injury so soon after replacing. They use such huge and thick blocks that it doesnt need to root an...

The field may recover, but I doubt the speakers will ever recover from Adele's whining voice. I must be getting old. Don't know what the fuss is all about. Never even heard of her before her tour and have never heard her sing. Staging a concert for her at our stadium just before the season starts r...

Hawthorn must have been a rabble when they very nearly merged with Melbourne 20 odd years ago... they seem to have turned it around okay. Exactly. And how far back do you go looking into the past? 1966? or when Everitt played? That was a players generation ago. Would Billings or Steele care? Doubtf...

So now our history doesn't matter? I suppose it depends on the circumstances?? I agree that it seems we are very stable, it remains to be seen if we are to be successful No idea if we will be successful and yes history does matter but it doesn't shape the future so being negative doesn't help anyone.

It's funny It took a move of clubs away from StK for Lockett, Hall and Everitt to enjoy the game and Reports from all those players are that StK did not have a strong leadership culture or professional attitude compared to their new club Joel Smith and Luke Ball have suggested the same about profes...

I likey rotation. I think we should have done mo of it last year. We are still at a stage were can keep experimenting a bit and be proactive in our search for a team that will be the right mix to win a flag. But more than anything I don't want to hear yet more excuses why we didn't win a flag - &qu...

Re: Hickey or Longer?
You're spot on Bluthy. Billy is the better ruckman with the no third man up rule now. But each game and opponent will be different so it will be very much a horses for courses selection. One has only have to replay the last few games against the Demons to see how the ruck contests played out there....

Re: Tigers offer Dusty 800K. Should we trump them?
If I was going for a Tiger free agent I'd look at Titch Edwards. Super quick, great finisher and outside run. Wouldn't be expensive and at 28 Tiges probably wouldn't match an offer. He is the perfect fit for a side with inside bulls wanting some outside run and an end of the chain link man for Sept...

Will Billy be happy at Sandy hoping for an injury? And AA Gawn, Goldstein, Jacobs, Mumford, Sandilands, Martin Might have something to say about that They may but most would have thought Goldstein was certain to be AA last year. Re: Congrats Nathan Wright
Lonie is too short and slight should never get another game - just not good enough. Once Long serves his suspension and maybe plays a few vfl games then he will take Lonie's spot. And that's what we want. If we can get a better player for one of our current players then we should go for it as, theo...

Let's break it down.. We cannot, I repeat cannot play 2 ruckman its absolute suicide and never EVER works Longer is definitely pushing for selection BUT Hickey was fantastic last year.. Billy is no. 1 Seriously? AFter Hicks was top 5 last year? Billy has been good but not brilliant in these preseason games. Richo does love his big bodied, physical guys. I would be skeptical until R1 is selected. Richo could just be trying to get Hickey to take it to another level by telling him he...

Re: We're Just Not Good Enough
I'll ask again, will the OP reconsider if we make the 8 ?? Not at all. Making the 8 isn't good enough. It's a good effort this season, but beyond that? That's not enough. My point isn't that we don't have the talent to make the 8 - it's that we aren't good enough to win a flag. Making the 8 this ye...
