Re: Axed saint a round one bolter

He was a leader and was admired by the coaches (he kept getting games) and was deemed to be an important cog. Not sure what you're implying about his delisting Sorry, I'm not implying anything about his delisting as I don't have any extra information other than my thoughts. I think the club needed ...

Re: Axed saint a round one bolter

It will be a great example of what a better coach and team can do. It also builds belief in our recruitment team if he shines. IE we picked good players they just werent developed well He has played over 100 games and had one decent season in his career. A big poster on Instagram who likes to pump ...

Couldn't bassett orchestrate a very generous sponsorship that would knock off that debt in a couple of years ?
We have to prove that we are worthy of that sponsorship first.

Re: Bassat on the focus now- The Age

I congratulate Basset on the interview, finally we have a leader who says it for what it is. The Seaford move really cost us no matter what angle you want to take at it. Of course he has to back Richo, it's the start of the season. What else is he going to say? If Richo doesn't produce by mid season...

Re: Hannebery on reduced workload following hamstring setback

Gee everyone, if someone gets a warning. Deal with it and move on.

The exact reason why they are doing this is because it wasn't done in the past and a lot of quality St Kilda supporters left.

You can't have it both ways.

Saints Pledge to Quit Pokies

In an interesting article on the front page of todays Moorabbin Leader (6/2/2019) Saints Pokies Pledge Club says long term aim is quit gaming income. They have discussed this with the AFL and are working to identify other revenue streams. Great news for everyone concerned. Pokies are no good for any...

Yeah great article....

Loved the focus on Rowan Marshall. He is my favourite player at the Saints.

FYI... if he gets dropped after one quiet game like he has in the past. I will lose my sh#t

Re: Bring it on!

I too am excited. When I read the list names I see heroic skills based performances beckoning. New Coaches; Lethlean has done the learning curve thing. What could go wrong. I am also confident when I put $20 in a pokie, so rationality isn't a drag on my enthusiasm, especially preseason. But just so...

Re: Bring it on!

* The ruthless delisting of players who did not work out or hadn't hit their performance goals Good post but I don’t agree with this point. Hickey and Weller were the only two regular’ish players cut and we had a number of regulars that seriously underperformed. Obviously there’s only so much you c...

Bring it on!

I am starting to feel extremely positive about this season. Here are my thoughts on what is happening at the club (from an outsiders perspective). * It looks to me that Richo is now doing more of a head of coaching job and leaving the actual coaching to Ratten and Co. * Improved leadership with the ...

Re: Josh Battle

You do realise that logic can be deconstructed with endless examples of the complete opposite. Think of how many accomplished footballers established thier credentials after shocking debuts or slow starts. And that's just by applying reverse logic, the logic fails so many tests and is way too simpl...

Mmmmm.... So the only forward who showed any sort of potential or composure is being moved to the backline. From the little we’ve seen of Rowan Marshall I think we can add him to the list of forwards with potential... Touche, correct!!! Rowan Marshall is another shining light. You are getting me ex...

Maybe it is part of the plan to make the pathway a bit easier for Paddy to get a game.

I would have loved to see Paddy and Josh "battle" it out for the number one position (pardon the pun)

Re: training fri 1st Feb

Thanks for the report, I couldn't make it down so great to hear a detailed report.

One of the problems with new recruits/players is the existing players don't look for them in play movements. Hopefully the gameplan is structured to getting them involved in transitions.

The club are keeping him at a low profile at the moment. Not being mentioned too much in media releases etc.
