Re: 2 games clear of Freo after 6 rounds!

I think the reason Lyon gets to me is this. He was a good coach for us insofar as he found a way for us to win games. But the players were subjugated to the method. He inherited this fantastic list but instead of encouraging them to play to their strengths and finding a style that suited the team, t...

Re: Richo takes Paul Roos' scalp

I love the way we're moving the ball down the guts. Prepared to take it on and get it into F50 fast. Loving seeing our guys playing with flair and confidence. One thing I thought could have been better today was it came out of their defensive 50 a bit too easy at times. Across half back they had to...

Re: 2 games clear of Freo after 6 rounds!

Ross after the game: “I see possibility and everything starts with possibility; see where you want to be and then get into action and repeat the action until you achieve." Obviously hasn't read his Einstein or he'd know that doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is ...

You've gotta have role players. Your elite kicks are never going to want to sacrifice their game to shut another player down (nor would you want them to).

Re: Thank You, Michael Nettlefold!

Speaking as just another sorry toerag with a boring, simple life, I also love seeing Freo lose. Watching Ross Lyon squirm in the press conferences week after week warms my sad, childish heart. I don't think my position is particularly strange: he walked out on us; I don't forgive him. Let's face it ...

Re: People do realise we aren't meant to play finals this ye

Seems to me that this notion of ours - and other clubs - that 'we aren't meant to play finals' makes a pretty compelling case for a two tier competition. What's the point of having a whole lot of clubs 'playing the kids' when we're all supposed to be competing for a flag? Better off having a second ...

Interesting to see that Lee held his spot. Reckon Webster has a bit of class - be nice to see him freed up on the wing.

Richo to thank for Port's decline

Anyone else hear them saying on Marngrook how Port's 'never say die' spirit was down to Richo? Said he was Hinkley's right-hand man - they haven't been the same since he left them and came to us. :D

Bit harsh - I also read afl.com's breakdown but noted that Sam Mitchell is the 'turnover king' for the Hawks.

Re: Watch the Hawks game for free on Foxtel Play

Well it doesn't work in my area - the footy channel is in their list of blackouts - in fact it IS their list of blackouts. Although you don't find that out till after you've registered. Not only that - it's taken me an hour to find a way to deactivate the bloody account. There's a nice big 'deactiva...

Re: Ins and outs vs Pies

I dunno why we dropped Acres either. Thought he was showing a bit. But I wouldn't drop Gresh. He got into all the right places, won his own ball, but was overtaken by the speed and the pressure - well he won't learn how to cope with that if we send him back to the twos.

Re: Port Power + INXS = Bloody Awful!

Apparently the Tigers are now using Darryl Braithwaite's cover version of the the Rickie Lee Jones song 'horses'. The AFL never disappoints when it comes to turning the cringe-o-meter up to 11. Gee whiz! That sounds horrendous. I hope our club resists doing something so utterly silly. The only song...

Loved how Rooey came across. And Murphy. Thing that struck me though - in light of the '3-peat' - was Hodge saying Clarko's on the phone to him every five minutes with a new idea!

Re: Send your message of condolence to Ross Lyin.

Personally, I hate him - but setting that aside... You'd think he would've been embarrassed listening to Nat Fyfe accepting the Brownlow when he said he'd 'live and die' for the Fremantle footy club. And old Rossy, what can he say? It's a job. I've got to put myself first. He'd have happily played t...

Re: Send your message of condolence to Ross Lyin.

One big difference between Richo and Watters is very skilful way Richo brought the senior players on board - has always spoken with great respect of the success (or near success!) we had before he got here. Watters talked as if they all the players - including the champs - were at ground zero and he...
