Often I think it's the synergy between great coach and great player - think sheedy-hurd, pagan-carey, even GT-Roo if you want to go there. The player can execute what the coach is selling.

Talk about positive spin! Versatile? Or the coach can't make his mind up?

Re: If we finish ninth with 11 wins and 11 losses???

If we continue to trundle along in mediocrity, it wouldn't surprise me if Ratts just hung up the coaching boots and said, 'I've had enough. Time for someone else to have a go." I think him leaving us is more likely than us asking him to pack his bags. Caveat - we really fall off badly. I don't...

Re: When is a rebuild not a real rebuild?

Agree with cwrcyn. James Gallagher has been outstanding. For me that appointment wipes Leathers' Hannerbery-call slate clean. Feel we may be being let down/misguided by our peripheral coaching entourage. Too many things just don't add up and/or are not explained to us. We should be doing better tha...

Re: When is a rebuild not a real rebuild?

it's our coaches we've been s*** at recruiting. we've only had 2 innovators in my memory - GT and Lyon, which is why we're constantly arguing about which of them was better. Nobody since or for a long time prior has come close to offering anything in the least bit outside the box. And each one seems...

Re: if only Grasham could kick

Gresham looks to win the game off his own boot. Which would be exciting if he was capable of doing it. Along with all the rest of the team, the problem is/continues to be complete lack of team sensibility. It's coaching. The gameplan (whatever it is) doesn't seem to include playing for each other. C...

Re: Rating Ratten each week.

I listened to the game on the ABC so I couldn't see myself but Malthouse said that over and over again one of our blokes would run a few yards to help tackle meaning there was a 2 to 1 and we were short elsewhere - instead of running harder and further to be in a position to receive the ball AFTER t...
