Fair enough too. And it should come out of the pocket of ALL the morons who were happy lighting s*** up and those who didn't stop them ie the whole team.dragit wrote:They only way he can get on with his life is a $20,000 sorry.

RING RING WATTERS: *Gulp* Hi Mr Winterbottom? Its Scott Watters here from the St Kilda football club. Yes it has been a turbulent year hasn't it. We really appreciate your company remaining as a major sponser and sticking by the club despite all the turmoil. We are really trying to lift our game. H...

I've got everything crossed that this has been beaten up and will blow over but here's the cost of one day's worth of idiotic drunken shenanigans: - Lead items on the news, papers and footy shows -- Journos now on the hunt for all the facts -- Club having to investigate and do damage control when it...

So you're happy for them to be jerks, but you want the club to hide it better? To an extent. Or as I said, prevent it in the first place. Can't believe they don't run their eyes over the planned festivities and cross that one off. Thats the slip up for mine. Don't throw your hands up after the even...

I still don't know why fans let this stuff bother them. If it's wholesome humans and role models you want, follow something other than AFL footy. How can anyone be shocked that Saints players are wankers? Especially when on the gas? Do we want to go somewhere as a club and have a culture where bein...

I'm happy to wait til all the facts come out (and I pray that it is a beat up) but bit shocked how everyone wants to explain it away already - just havin a bit of a laugh, end of year footy trips nudge nudge. Re: Experts knew jack
Well we only had 3 wins on the board (incl GWS and Melbourne) before GC game. I was surprised how lacklustre Freo was - I think they were told to play bruise free football to avoid injury/suspension and keep powder dry on warm day. But that is a bit of demoralising loss on the eve of the finals. I'm...

Re: What saddens me.....
To me this is an improvement that Watters has brought in. He knows a great footy team is not purely about tactics on the field for the 22 playing but everything that surrounds the club - culture, supporters, memories etc. That makes a club bigger and stronger in every way.

Re: Tom Ledger
From the gossip on this site there seemed to be questions over how committed he was to the club and that he felt a bit above VFL footy. He has a strut about him on the field. He has a funny kicking style where he really slams the football on to his boot. That style tends to work brilliantly sometime...

He's not there yet,but he is one of those players you look at early and say WTF were they thinking, then they turn it around. My biggest one of these types was Sam Fisher when he started... He looks to have footy smarts, once he gets his body right,he looks without being a messiah, but a very handy ...

Jack is becoming quite Ablett-like in his ability to evade tacklers and keep his poise in even the heaviest traffic. Was left alone today to do what he wanted which won't happen every week. But he's becoming a genuine A-grade player.

Re: Record Number of Disposals in a Game
Not a great deal of pressure.... Dockers reserves insipid But the saints were very dominant.... Midfield controlled possession.... They looked slow The number of times it came out to Saints on the wing and dockers weren't within cooey was amazing. There is a real trend in footy though were you shoo...

It was an amazing day. Sun poring in to the stadium, so much love for the 3 retirees and then the team played so well - pressure, confidence and determination. So much fun everytime Blake, Kosi and Milney touched it - crowd went wild.

5 Jack
4 Joey - both should be checked for leather poisoning
3 Gilbert - back to his best
2 Lee - becoming a real forward presence
1 Milney - no one brings the crowd to life like Mr Milne

Re: Okay Mr Watters show us you can coach?
He actually played a bit more of a mature team even though they were still pretty inexperienced. We could probably win more playing similar teams but we sacrifice 4 years from now for some cheap wins and a climb a few spots up the ladder. Shenton, Curren and Ledger are already somewhat mature and w...

Props to Macca, worked hard in the clinches. We definitely looked like the hunters today. You have to stop Ablett getting the ball, once he's got it your screwed. Jones was up his clacker all day.

Re: Tom Ledger
Got points from me for backing back into the GC player (and I think it was Gilbert) near the wing. Kept his eyes on the footy and took the hit hard. Didn't look back. He looks a cocky little bugger (was not hesitant about taking that shot on goal). That can be good or bad depending on how its harnes...

My only problem with Joey as captain would be as winger can he isn't necessarily at the heart of the battle where most captains are eg. midfield or CHB/CHF.
