Re: AFLW Does anyone really care?

The views of Daisy Pearce at the time of the Queen's passing are both untimely and irrelevant to football.

Re: What do you want from this review?

St Kilda is the AFL's social awareness, it isn't a football club. It is more interested in being the moral compass of modern day society than actually playing football. Not good for winning premierships but at least it remains relevant in the AFL's eyes. I for one supported the St Kilda football cl...

Cheerio Matt Finnis - St Kilda CEO since 2014.

Our CEO is due to be replaced by Simon Lethlean at the end of the season, in our case on this Sunday. In my opinion Matt has been one of the the most unique CEO's in our clubs history, and indeed in the history of the AFL. The above is my view based on 56 years of following the Saints and the VFL / ...

Re: 2019 trade for Hill haunts St Kilda

He is a highly skilled player.
Although not as good as Shaun Burgoyne, he offers a level of silk that is missing in other players on our list.
On the negative side, his body language is annoying at times.

Re: Players which you got wrong

I remember standing behind the goals at the South Road end at Moorabbin in the mid 1980's.
I saw a young man called Frawley in the backline. My early impression was that he would probably never make it. What a bad judge I was...

Re: The running men.

When I think of Tony Brown, memories of youngsters such as Skinny Lappin, Joel Smith & Aussie Jones also come flooding back. The mid to late 1990's were often special days at the club. (Eg Pre season premiers 1996, top of the ladder 1997). It would have been great if Skinny and Joel had remained...

Re: Question about King?

Thilthorpe took 1 game And he is 18 The biggest concern is his total lack of aggression and presence! Roo might have had some other talls, but make no mistake, he was the number 1 banana. He took 256 marks in 04 was AA centre half forward AFLPA MVP and B&F and he did this as a 21yo He was the b...

Re the OP, I think I’m done too! This is the first year in my cursed sainter life where I just haven’t given a s*** about the losses. I’m not feeling the hurt associated with your team getting smashed week in week out nor the anxiety of when we will turn the corner and ‘click’ as a team. Honestly t...

Think what this poor excuse for a thread and those that support it are forgetting is what the players had to give up in 2020 As far as I'm concerned they all have plenty of credit in the bank I wish Paddy and any players with mental health concerns all the best. I also feel feel incredibly sorry fo...

Re: Thanks Ryder

Can’t help think that the club has lost focus. Seems to me that we’re too invested in marginalised causes. It’s the trendy thing to do but the reality is that it’s a football club with the goal of winning flags. What’s the rainbow pride, down in the dumps, mysterious killer illness game next at Mar...

Re: The Rhyming Saints are back

The thoughts of one baby boomer about our current set up. Our club seeks to be socially inclusive, Pathetic performances make us feel reclusive We focus on the importance of mental health talk, While our players refuse to get out of a walk How about the rights of LBQGT? Never forget though, to get t...

One of the most talented players I ever saw.

I seem to remember that Rod was viewed as a better prospect than plugger (who also played Little League) when they started their careers.

Incredibly sad account.

I was there. Was in my 30's rather than 60's then! 25 years ago. Hard to believe! Kevin Johnson on the footy promo... After the match I began to believe that we could win the 'day' flag in the Centenary year of 96. By the way, which excited supporter of ours climbed the goal post after that Ansett C...

Re: Vale Doug Parkinson

The first 2 or 3 years of the 90s at the footy were fantastic years to be a saints supporter. Plugger's presence was unprecedented in the league, the skills of Nicky Winmar, emerging stars such as Banger, Burke, Loewe, still at Moorabbin etc. Like the title of the song, they were the "Saints Fig...
