Re: Phillipou Close to Signing

Killa, this thread is about Pou re-signing.
You've gone on a one-man Sermon on the Mount rant about our club and staying the course;
And veered off into a history lesson about the Hawks or Cats or who knows

Re: Phillipou Close to Signing

Let Pou walk to SA.
His second year shows zero improvement.
If Crows or Power offers up a decent mid or a nice draft pick, take it.

The Pou won't get better under our guidance.

We CAN'T DEVELOP PLAYERS.

Give him a chance to improve at a better culture.
We'll get a decent mid.

Re: Lyon Press Conference Pre-R7 v Port

What’s the purpose and benefit of the tactic of sitting back in a game of keeping’s off? I don't listen to commentators, but even they saw folly. Fox guys kept saying we 'were guarding grass, not players'. Astounding. 134 uncontested marks. At no point in the game did the brains trust (cough) reali...

Re: Paddy Dow to play for Sandy

Good. We need some matured-bodied, experienced players back soon if this is to be anything more than a development year. Brad Crouch, for example, good player but short of superstar status. We’ve missed him a lot more than many would have thought. We need a competitive performance this week against...

Re: Lyon Press Conference Pre-R7 v Port

Wilkie was caught out several times. And each time, he was angry. He had a game he'd rather forget. As a leader, I'd expect him to speak up at each break when Boris spoke to the defenders- and say 'guys, this cr@p ain't working' Why wasn't it addressed at qtr time, 1/2 time, etc. 'Insanity' is repea...

Re: Aberration or reality check or both?

I thought at the time that Bassat bringing in Lyon was a PR stunt from a desperate president who was impatient for success, and who thought looking backwards was the answer. I was really disappointed with Lyon coming back, as I see him as the past, had his time and been out of the game for a while ...

Re: Aberration or reality check or both?

One thing stands out to me. When we are getting soundly beaten, we turn the game into a combo of rugby union and Auskick. Rolling mauls. We strangle and smother the free-flow of the game for a stalemate until we can get the ball out the back for Higgo and others to run into a vacant fwd line. We can...

Fair to say he gave Owens a bath
170 AF points?

Our club will help someone get a Brownlow.
It used to be a mids' award, for the first time in a long time, it'll go to a HB.
Thanks Saints

Re: Which Half Back this week

So was it the unlucky bounce in 2009 or more this unfortunate game plan? It needs to be asked at some stage. Shaw, Thomas, O'Brien etc. kept rebounding everything at will in 2010 .. we made them superstars. Enright, Kelly and Milburn destroyed us in 2009 ... we gave them too much latitude. Martin 4...

I don't like commentators but they made fun of our guys guarding grass and not oppo.

You look at the disposals for Doggies and it was 100 more than us.

Potential Blow-outs

Based on what we've seen so far, Here's my tips for worrying games where our poor midfield and fwd line will see us get touched up badly. You might call me a fool, but look at the style that had us beat Pies, Tigers; and get close to Cats n Giants. We devolved into rugby scrums, like Auskick. Becaus...

'His' selection decisions?

Is he Kim Jong-Un?

They sit around a table.
Batchelor, Goddard, Harvey, Boris, maybe Lenny gets an equal say as Dev Coach.

They ALL have input

Re: Callum gets a rap

AFL site has him ranked pretty low on AF points.
I think he took 4 marks and got 11 disposals for the game.

One of his worst games in RW &B.

5 Windhager
4 Hill
3 Wilson
2+1 Nobody
Wilkie was soundly beaten whenever Naughton and him were close together. His dump kicks outta defence were to nobody.
Sinclair got under 20 touches and I don't know him anymore.
NAS was fumbly and flustered.

Re: Ross Lyon had a slap in the face tonight

RTB said last yr, after a crappy game, it was a 'mulligan'.
I'm worried he thinks the same about tonight.
Presser- he said 'it's not us' as if it were another mulligan.

It needs to be examined, identified, and fixed

Commentator reckons his biggest loss as Saints coach is about 66 pts in 2009 or 2008.
