He seemed fit enough to me. His weakness was all those amazing squibs throughout his career. You could almost make a DVD of Fioras greatest Squibs. All those critical moments in games when the entire stkilda/richmond crowd was relying on fiora to take a knock for team.....and then...woh...squibs at ...

Goddard has extreme talent, the best long kick in the AFL. It is punishing for opposition teams.

Riewoldt has a gigantic heart and doesn't stop working all day.

In the finals we were missing Ball and had an unfit Hayes running about, chuck those two into the midfield along with Gram and Goddard and we are looking pretty good.. I have to disagree, strongly. We'll look better than last year, but the midfield of Geelong or Hawthorn are still going to rape us ...

Well, no Cousins hey. Down we go. Our midfield is just not up to par. Cousins could have given us an edge assuming a million things.

Well hopefully we drafted at least 5 more fringe players to complement our underachieving 'superstars' (Riewoldt excepted)

In my opinion. Our midfield will be the same story next year. Slow, Dal Santo will get destroyed by tags. Montagna will continue to be found out. Ball will knacker himself every week, and Lenny Hayes will never kick goals from 5m in front. Without Cousins it will be the same defeatable mob won't it?...
