From looking at his WAFL stats for 2011 it looks like he did spend some time in the ruck.

So from looking at that he could possibly be used as a defender if needed.

I remember seeing Hickey play and recall being very impressed with him. Like savatage said he is pretty good at contested marking. Would be stoked if we got him.
